In the novel The Westing Game, the characters Sydelle Pulaski, Grace Wexler, and Turtle wexler are all defined by specific traits. One of the characters I chose is Sydelle Pulaski. She is fifty years old, secretary to president of Shultz Sausages, has no family relations to any of the other heirs, and she lives in apartment 3c of Westingtowns very own sunset towers. Rainsford is shown to be intelligent in the story when he beats General Zaroff back to his house with only two options for beating him to his house. Not only does he display compassion in one of his character but in every single one he gives them compassion that is expressed in different ways. Sam Westing died, or supposedly did, and his sixteen heirs were trying to figure out who killed him, or if he was killed at all, which we found out, later in the novel was true. All of the teams had different clues, and they tried to figure out what those clues meant. In the mystery novel, The Westing Game, written by Ellen Raskin, the elements that were mysterious were: the main conflict, setting, characterization, and the technique the author gave clues to the reader.
The main charter is a twin tail hair girl, Tabitha-Ruth "Turtle" Wexler found all the keys of this game. This novel is based on this smart girl to led reader find out the murder and answers. This girl like play stock market and cheese. But she hate anyone touch her tail, once you touch, she will kick your shank and get away from her. At the end of the novel, no one get the two million dollar legacy, but every got what they need. Some of them realized what were important for them; love, friendship, or family. If we have to determine a winner, I think that will be Mr. Westing, he spent all his life with his family, and help them found out what they lose in their lives. He has four different identities. Sam "Windy", which was a fakes his death as self-made millionaire; a realtor Barney Northrup; as Sunset Towers doorman Sandy McSouthers; as Julian Eastman which run the Westing Paper Products Corporation as its newly-elected chairman. Finally, he unties his family all together, finish his goal. It’s a happen ending.
In T.H. White's Once and Future King, fate plays a very important role in Arthur's life when he meets Merlyn and Merlyn becomes his mentor. When they first met, Arthur was confused as to why Merlyn was going all the way home with him until Merlyn said, "Why not? How else can I be your tutor?" (37) Arthur realizes he had been on a quest to find his tutor. This quote is important to the theme because it was Arthur's first quest on his journey towards king. This reason this quote is so important is because Merlyn is preparing Arthur to become a great leader. After all of Arthur's training with Merlyn, Merlyn tells Arthur that he might not know it yet but he will be, "Hic jacet Arthutus Rex quandum Rexque futurus... The Once and Future King." (287) This quote foreshadows that Arthur, will in fact, become the great leader. If it were not for training with Merlyn, he would not be the great leader he developed into throughout the book.

Sam Westing brought the people together to find out who took his life, and the winner could gain millions. In the end, the players all benefited from Westing’s plan. However, since there is both a movie and a book version of the story, there are similarities and differences.

Being optimistic can be extremely difficult when you’re taken away from a happy life, and forced into situations that make him pessimistic about the future,just like Buck did. My dad was taken away from a happy life, going through tons of traumatic situations while being forced to grow up at the same time. Although Buck and my dad went through different situations, they still felt trapped and unhappy at one point in life. Perseverance is a life skill and everyone goes through tough situations everyday, it’s the way you handle them that shows true characterization.
