“The Truman Show” director Peter Weir created a film that allowed not my but many individuals reflect on their life.

His movies, including “Dead Poets Society” is one of many of his collection that shows his dedication and effort towards his directory that provides a powerful message to his viewers.

It's a rare opportunity, for a movie to help allow the audience to reflect upon the world around them and realize the type of world they're living in. Many films only focus towards one specific goal, which is to provide an enjoyable film towards society and in the process earn tons of money. The broadcasting dubbed as “ The Truman Show”, is acclaimed as the most successful tv show series in time. Visible to Truman, unknown to him, Truman began his rise to fame approximately 30 years ago before his birth. Unwanted and abandoned as a child, Truman`s privacy has abruptly been jeopardized where Truman is monitored constantly 24 hours a day, and 7 days in a week .

His hometown Seahaven is actually a soundstage with the exception of over 50000 hidden cameras focused only towards Truman. His wife, parents, friends, coworkers, and everyone else, are all actors paid to act out in a created yet fictional community in Truman eyes. However Truman is unable to realize this, as this is the world he was born into and adapted to, this is world “they” hope to keep him in until Truman dies.

In a similar way, everyone in the world can connect towards Truman life. No one can deny it, but we all have been watched since we were born. From the day you were born, to the day you're taking your first steps, and to the day your graduating university/college. Peter Weir created a film that acknowledged the fact that we're all being watched everywhere were going and all of our lives are controlled by the individual around us. From your parents, to friends, to your religion or culture, all of these aspects either control the person you are or change the person you choose to be.
