A fight for what is right and what is wrong, whether justice will be served in “The Salesman,” directed by Asghar Farhadi portrays the steps of fulfilling a revenge beautifully. The emotion of frustration and sense of honor consumes Emad slowly gets consumed by getting revenge against the attacker that traumatized his wife. “The Salesman” begins with people evacuating a collapsing building. Due to the unstable living condition in the building, Emad is forced to find a new living space. Emad is a teacher and along with his wife, Rana, act in a local theatre. They play the role of a couple in the play, “The death of a Salesman.” Emad found a new living space through his colleague, but the woman who lived there before has yet to remove her belongings from the apartment. One night when Rana was showering, she let in a mysterious man whom she thought was her husband and the mysterious man assaulted Rana. This incident left Rana traumatized, she was unable to stay at home by herself. After hearing about the incident, Emad wanted to seek revenge and confront the man that assaulted his wife. Emad and Rana play the role of couples in “The death of a Salesman,” and outside the play, they are a couple. Emad and Willy from “The death of a Salesman” share a similar role in their relationship with their counterparts. Both are trying to live up to the standards of satisfying their wives. Emad desperately searches for the perpetrator that assaulted his wife and gets frustrated throughout the movie because his wife is trying to stop him, or his clues do not lead him to the perpetrator immediately.
