War is a theme that occurs with robots, because it is the result of the rebellion that they start, but not every Science Fiction war is about robots versus humans. In Interstellar, a devastating war had occurred that made Earth uninhabitable and the need to find a planet suitable for life. One hint that can prove this is that during the interrogation scene, between Cooper and Tars, Cooper stated “You might think you’re still in the Marines, but the Marines don’t exist anymore”(Nolan). This indicated two things; there were a war and the military no longer exist and that Tars, as well as other robots, were soldiers. For the military to no longer have been being active, the war must have been devastating. There are actions that help improve that …show more content…

The humans talk to the robots as if they were a regular human being. An example was when the Cooper and his family captured an Indian drone. During the dismantle of the drone Murph stated "can 't we just let it go. It wasn 't hurting anyone”(Nolan). She felt empathy towards a drone that was cruising through the sky as if it was a human. It demonstrates the humans and robots have lived with each other long enough for the humans to treat them as if they were humans. It was not only Murph who had empathy for a robot, Cooper was eager to see that Tars was in his home and in need of repair. He was happy to see his companion still be his side when the sacrifice Tars made him appear to be gone forever. Cooper repaired and him and the two set off on another journey to find Brands and Case. “The importance of finding common ground between humans and robots in order to establish and build them over time… enable robots to exhibit sufficiently human-like behavior pattern to engender human empathy”(Levy 18). As time is needed to make the two seeing that they are similar and that they should be living together. It can be that the war has brought the two closer together, as the humans have created the most destruction and the robots were just doing their job. The destruction has brought unity and peace for the world, even through the time where humanity knew that it was on the brink of …show more content…

They are commanded by people to complete a task for them, as well as replace humans in the labor force. They can traverse through areas that are difficult for any ordinary human; An example is from Interstellar where Case’s ability of rescuing Brands showed that robots are not affected by the barrier that the humans face in space as they are. Robots can be malevolent to the humans as they hold the ability to enslave the human race. Tars has a humor setting and his jokes are about him enslaving the humans, but the only reason he was given that was so that he can fit in with his squad. If he wanted, he could have easily done it, because he is an ex-marine and withstands more damage than humans. In RUR, the robots have enslaved the human race and brought them to extinction because they were the new race of humans. Even though the overhaul of robots, they still possess the same feature that a human has. As Primus and Helena experienced human emotion, by loving each other can demonstrate that they can develop emotions that as well as consciousness. The sacrifice of Tars was essential as the human race was able to survive the blight that has destroyed their crops and forced them to find a suitable replacement of Earth. The possibility for robots developing consciousness would change the world. The world that is deem perfect for robots to live either by living humans or the world
