The Qur'an's References to Orbits
While referring to the Sun and the Moon in the Qur'an, it is
emphasized that each moves in a definite orbit.
"It is He Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon.
They swim along, each in an orbit. "
(The Qur'an, 21:33)
It is mentioned in another verse, too, that the Sun is not static but
moves in a definite orbit:
"And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the
Almighty, the All-Knowing. "
(The Qur'an, 37:38)
These facts communicated in the Qur'an have been discovered by
astronomical observations in our age. According to the calculations of
experts on astronomy, the Sun is traveling at the enormous speed of
720,000 kilometers an hour in the direction of the star Vega in a
particular orbit called the Solar Apex. This means that the sun
travels roughly 17,280,000 kilometers a day. Along with the Sun, and
all planets and satellites within the gravitational system of the Sun
also travel the same distance. In addition, all the stars in the
universe are in a similar planned motion. That the entire universe is
full of paths and orbits such as this one, is written in the Qur'an as
follows:
"By the sky full of paths and orbits."
(The Qur'an, 51:7)
Roundness of the earth:
"He has created the Heavens and the Earth for Truth. He wraps the
night up in the day, and wraps the day up in the night."
(The Qur'an, 39:5)
In the Qur'an, the words used for describing the universe are quite
remarkable. The Arabic word that is translated as "to wrap" in the
above verse is "takwir". In English, it means "to make one thing lap
over another, folded ...

In yet another verse of the Qur'an, it is pointed out:
He makes night merge into day and day merge into night, and He has
made the sun and moon subservient, each one running until a specified
time. That is Allah, your Lord. The Kingdom is His. Those you call on
besides Him have no power over even the smallest speck.(Surah Fatir:
13)
This plain truth declared by the Qur'an is also confirmed by a number
of the important founders of the modern science of astronomy. Galileo,
Kepler, and Newton all recognised that the structure of universe, the
design of the solar system, the laws of physics and their states of
equilibrium were all created by Allah and they arrived at that
conclusion as a result of their own research and observations.

MacArthur dispels the notion that each day was a long period of time, an idea held by old-earth creationist, through scriptural insight that “whenever the word [day] is modified by a number the clear reference is to a normal solar day” (40). Night by Elie Wiesel is the captivating story of Wiesels childhood, which was spent behind the barbed wire and endless suffering of World War Two concentration camps. Elies journey through concentration camps rob him of his faith in God and expose him to the deepest inhumanity of which man is capable. Despite this exposure Wiesel maintains his devotion to his father. People relate the night to evil, darkness, and the unknown. To the prisoners of the concentration camps life was like a ceaseless night. Thus explains Wiesels choice of the word for his title. According to creationism there was darkness before there was light. "Now the Earth was astonishingly empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep... And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. And God saw the light that it was good, and God separated between the light and between the darkness." Night is when the most significant parts of the story transpire. Once the Prisoners are in the camp they have a longing for darkness, for night. Which is really a longing for death.-Need to make into one sentence.
Verses 3-5 talk about the creation of light and separation from darkness and how the Lord called the light day and the dark night.

In the discussion that follows, I will often talk of what “the Qur’an intends,” or what “the Torah means to say” on a topic. It should be understood that I am not ascribing human attributes to inanimate books, but rather that I am intentionally avoiding the conflict inherent in naming the author of these books. Depending on one’s tastes, one could understand the Qur’an’s intention to be either Muhammad or Allah’s intention. Likewise, “the Torah means to say” could really be understood as what either Moses or G-d means to say. Either way, the important point is that somebody thought through the stories and decided on which words were worthy of being included in the holy texts and which were not. One of the underlying assumptions of this paper is that the stories were written down the way we find them today for a reason, and this paper intends to shed light on some of those reasons.

Everything else was silent, empty, dark, and endless. Love was then born out of nowhere, bringing a start of order. From love came Light and Day. Once Light and Day was born, so was Gaea, the earth. Then Erebus and Night slept together, and gave birth to Ether, the heavenly light and the earthly light to Day.

Genesis and its two accounts of creation are an essential starting point for Jewish, Christian, and Islamic beliefs. It provides a foundation for devotees of these religions to worship their God as the ultimate creator of the heavens and earth, day and night, sun and moon, all the animals and vegetation that inhabits the world, and human beings. For Jews and Christians, God created the world in six days, taking rest on the seventh day.

Genesis 1 is titled “The Beginning” discussing how the earth was formed. The very first paragraph discusses God creating the heavens and the earth. This includes the whole frame and furniture of the universe. As Christians, their duty is to keep heaven in their eyes and the earth under their feet. The earth was made empty and formless. God decided the earth was so shapeless that he needed to create light and darkness to separate day from night. God saw that the light was good and would call the light “day”, and the darkness would represent “night”. Light was seen as the great beauty and blessing of the universe. The light was made purely by the word of God’s power. God saw the light as good, exactly how he designed it. Light was fit to answer the end for which he designed it. He had simply said, let there be light and it was done, there was light. This is how the separation of day and night was created by God, never allowing them to be joined together.
The Qur’an mainly reflects on their God Allah and their messenger Muhammad. It relays the rules and messages Allah wanted his people to follow. Similar to the Christian Bible, which many Americans follow, it is a way of life that relaxes many and gives a reason to believe in something bigger than yourself. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their own beliefs. Although a majority of the Qur’an is used for prayers and beliefs of Allah, there are many signs of violence among it as well. In the beginning of each chapter in the Qur’an, the first line always reads: “In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful”, which is referring to Allah and how they praise him each time before reciting their prayer. Throughout the Qur’an we see how influential this figure is over this religion and how much respect and belief they have in Allah. From all of the forgiveness he gives them to believing in their religion God always rewards them when they follow his word. They will do what it takes for their Gods strength, love, forgiveness and
