o you know what pop-art is? Pop-art is a movement that started in Britain in the 1950s. It was later started in the United States. Some artist during this movement from Britain were Eduardo Paolozzi and Richard Hamilton. Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns were from the United States. Pop-art in it includes mass culture, advertising, comic books, and dull cultural objects. It intends to use popular culture. Pop-art interprets a reaction to main ideas.
Andy Warhol is one of the artist during the Pop-art movement. He was born on August 6,1928.. Andy was the third child to be born. He suffered from a nervous disorder. This would keep him at home frequently. He would listen to the radio and would have a collection of movie stars all around his bed. His father passed away when he was at the age of 14. Andy Warhol's Twenty-Five Colored Marilyns is what people know him by. It was created in 1962. He used a silkscreen process when he made this painting. Then he used a method of commercial printmaking. He used commercial printmaking to make Marilyn's face appear a lot of times. Roy Lichtensteins Drowning Girl was created in 1963. This is an image of a girl drowning. The image contains a picture of her boyfriend up above her on a boat. He also added a text of a comic book panel. The text says “I don't care! I’d rather sink than call Brad for help.”
Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol are very similar artists. They are both similar because they both are in the pop-art movement. Also they both paint pop-art paintings. Some of the things that make them different are well they both come from different places. Andy Warhol is from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Roy Lichtenstein is from Manhattan New York. Also they both went to different schools to learn about art.
