Most people would like to obtain a healthy lifestyle. Not just the healthy lifestyle where a person would eat right, exercise, being an overall happy person but also the relationships in someone’s life, being social and spending time with people. Some people say that stress has a positive influence on motivation, however; stress mostly has a negative effect on the motivation a person would have to obtain this healthy lifestyle. "It’s a negative force. If you experience stress over a prolonged period of time, it becomes chronic."(How stress affects your health) This stress is caused by the people around us, the labor that someone would endure, school or even work. These types of stress can be categorized into 3 different groups; mental, physical, and emotional stress. Mental stress is defined as a broad term surrounding mental awakening. If work takes up most of a person’s time they wouldn’t have the energy to do anything else. A person may hate their job or have a horrible mean boss that doesn’t respect them and this could cause a person to become depressed. In the article "No Time to Be Nice at Work", it states that mean words or rude behavior can cut a person down and make them feel worthless. If a boss is mean all the time a person wouldn’t have the motivation to go to work and would usually be unhappy with their lives. "Bosses produce demoralized employees through a string of actions"(article) When a boss is mean all the time and doesn’t respect their employee it makes the employee less motivated to do their job. I work all the time, with the stress of work all the time plus the stress that comes along with school I don’t have the motivation to have a social life.
