Have you ever wondered about being so determined about winning something that you really wanted? But in the story ”The Marble Champ” by Gary Soto, the main character Lupe is just the way she is by not winning any sport medals or trophies. Lupe tells the story by talking about her not being an athletic person and her story about training for the Marble Games. Lupe is a determined to finally win in a sporting event. Lupe is determined because she is not an athletic person and because she is a hard worker. Lupe is determined to finally win in a sporting event. My first reason is she was never a athletic person .The story supports this by Lupe saying ” I’ll never be good at sports,” she fumed on one of the rainy days as she lays on her bed
