INTRODUCTION In today’s world, the Fitbit and Apple Watch trend are taking over. It seems as if everyone has a device that will track their step progress, their heart rate, and their calories. Some individuals may think that these devices are bad because they are a distraction, but physical education teachers think differently. When someone has a fitbit, their goal is to achieve ten thousand steps for the day. Most people tend to be more active when they are wearing the Fitbit because he or she wants to achieve the goal. I think that step, heart rate, and calorie counters are very advantageous because the product makes people set a goal and want to achieve it. They feel a sense of accomplishment even though it is something simple like reaching the desired heart rate or step count. Children who have a hard time with their physical health may like this option because it encourages them to succeed. CONCLUSION All in all, I think that technology in schools is important, and it is especially important in physical education classes. Children are more motivated to move around if they think that a goal is being accomplished. Students really like the idea of being a winner. Teachers could even have one winner every week for the student who has the most steps or holds the most days getting the highest heart rate. Technology should be integrated into today’s physical education because people are already so caught up in it that they should put it to benefit
