There are about 195 countries in the world, that is a lot of culture and industrial differences. Therefore, having an international mindset is critical in today’s global economy. The world 's international student population who study abroad numbers “more than 3.7 million” and it continues to grow each year. Moreover, there is even a greater population of people who conduct businesses in different countries. Despite their cultural and economic differences, two countries must learn how to properly conduct businesses. For example, China has been acquiring multiple companies in America, and America has numerous manufactories in China. In addition, to their economic differences, they have varying beliefs in how they function from day to do basis. To illustrate, China has a collectivism approach. Meaning, from the day they are born, their parents, grandparent or anyone in the family household makes the decision for them. Everything is for the greater good. They are willing to sacrifice their wants and needs to make their family proud. As opposed to the American way of thinking, which is by yourself for yourself, individualism. They are taught or asked from a young age, “what do you want? How are you going to get that?” Of course family members give their insights and advices, but it is ultimately up to the person to make the final decision. From living and studying in China for the past four months, I have been able to exchange information with a number of Chinese students. Most of whom which responded with “my parents would like me to do this or my parents do this for me.” Which is perfectly fine, because in the Western world, it is all about “me, me, me.” They have too much freedom and too little discipline. If there was a way to combine both ways of living, maybe there could be somewhat close to perfect

Thousands years ago in ancient China, schools are competitive, students needs to have high quality of studying and good relations with the school as well. Even they might feel stressful on learning when they are in elementary school. Nowadays, parents still think their kid must have the best education, more strong points. Childrens are learning lots of skills and knowledge when they are extremely young. In Canada, it's totally different. Students like team-work, they don't have bias on any schools. The way that family members relate in these countries conflict with each other. The differences start developing in the beginning of their lives. American children are taught by their parents how to manage and make their own money. They are taught to value accomplishments and work at an early age. They also have duties at home such as being responsible for helping with house tasks.
Chinese government implements centralization system which means sovereign power prior to human rights, while majority western countries implement constitutional democracy. Chinese traditional politics principles force people to follow the idea of their superiors and seniorities. Therefore, Chinese people might be more willing to listen to others’ opinions and follow it. Also, Chinese people advocate collective. So, people are more care about interests of collective rather than personal interests, which makes people react partner’s action and people-oriented. Globalization is now a key factor when creating a business strategy for most companies whether they are small family own businesses or huge corporations. Globalization however does not just involve selling a product in other countries. There are legal and cultural concerns that must be addressed. The legal aspects are fairly simple because in most places the laws are spelled out. It's the local customs, and regional way of doing things that can be tricky. Research on globalization has shown that it is not an omnipotent, unidirectional force leveling everything in its path. Because a global culture does not exist, any search for it would be futile. The very first important development for a successful country is to have a respectable education system for those who need it from the first day they are born into the world. We have to instill what we want in our people to reflect how we want our to development to appear. In china their school system has more of a strict structure for example, at Harbin Number One High School; students begin school at 7:00 a.m., and remain until 8:20 p.m. The seniors, preparing for their final examinations, stay later, even until 10:00 at night.(Rybak) In a Chinese school the day are much longer than an American school day. This means that Chinese student spend a lot more time in school which bring us to conclusion that Chinese are more advantaged then the American student in long run. This prepares them for college or even the young adult can be bio-lingual. Most American student usually attends school for seven hours each weekday and may forget what they have learned because it in instilled into the young adults’ heads like the Chinese do with their students.

The role of culture in the economic development of countries is often overlooked by economists, yet it can significantly affect a country’s economic development. Culture generates assets, such as skills, products, expression, and insight that contribute to the social and economic well being of the community. I will show the benefit of culture’s impact on economic development through tourism, social capital, and corporate governance. In contrast, culture can produce negative outcomes in economic development. Cultural issues, such as gender inequality, lack of social capital, and diminishing cultural heritages, contribute to a downgrading economy.
