There are about 195 countries in the world, that is a lot of culture and industrial differences. Therefore, having an international mindset is critical in today’s global economy. The world 's international student population who study abroad numbers “more than 3.7 million” and it continues to grow each year. Moreover, there is even a greater population of people who conduct businesses in different countries. Despite their cultural and economic differences, two countries must learn how to properly conduct businesses. For example, China has been acquiring multiple companies in America, and America has numerous manufactories in China. In addition, to their economic differences, they have varying beliefs in how they function from day to do basis. To illustrate, China has a collectivism approach. Meaning, from the day they are born, their parents, grandparent or anyone in the family household makes the decision for them. Everything is for the greater good. They are willing to sacrifice their wants and needs to make their family proud. As opposed to the American way of thinking, which is by yourself for yourself, individualism. They are taught or asked from a young age, “what do you want? How are you going to get that?” Of course family members give their insights and advices, but it is ultimately up to the person to make the final decision. From living and studying in China for the past four months, I have been able to exchange information with a number of Chinese students. Most of whom which responded with “my parents would like me to do this or my parents do this for me.” Which is perfectly fine, because in the Western world, it is all about “me, me, me.” They have too much freedom and too little discipline. If there was a way to combine both ways of living, maybe there could be somewhat close to perfect
