Introduction: Corporate social responsibility has been proposed by western countries since nineteenth century, it attaches importance in recent years, and federation already become a charity where drive the enterprise to be responsible for society. Due to the fad of corporate social responsibility, some people hold that business is not supposed to shoulder any social responsibility except making profits. By the side of economic, it is correct as Friedman said, there is one and only one social responsibility, which is increasing profits( Friedman, 1962). Profit is simply a necessary enabler for a company to achieve its true purpose of doing something worthwhile(Handy, 1990). It has to say that there are situations of violation of business ethics, ecology of deterioration and damage of group interest while some enterprises are pursuing the rapid development of economic growth. Corporate social responsibility is more and more vital as same as secretary general said in Switzerland, the “global compact” appeals business to comply with the human rights, labor standard and environmental rules(united nations, 1999). Standing from inside of business, it guarantees the dignity and social benefits; standing from outside, it enables business’s responsibility to be efficient and effective socially and environmentally. With the alteration of era, corporate social responsibility is not only concerning financial responsibility, but also cultural responsibility, educational responsibility and environmental responsibility. In the late of nineteenth century, Nike was named as “sweatshops” just because they did not carry out social responsibility. As a report as indicated, Nike grabbed the opportunities in market and advertised by a slogan of “just do it”, as well as endorsement of top athletes, it catches eyes of youths(2001). In spite of that, they gave up the business strategy of small profits and quick turnovers, instead of boosting the price of shoes and squeezing the salary of employee in order to maximize their profits. However, it was a depression era that the prices were not affordable for everyone so that complained by opponents who launched campaign of “boycotting sweatshops”, force Nike to increase the wage of oversea shoe factories, it is a obstacle in the road of development of Nike. Under the repeat thinking, Nike was determined to concentrate on enterprise social responsibility and, they established an executive level multi-functional team with the responsibility to drive compliance with CSR and environmental standards(expert researcher, 2013). After that, Nike put their effort into the protection of employee, innovation of sustainable development and solution of change of climate.
