New York Times Bestseller The Hunt for Red October by Tom Clancy. The reason it’s being analyzed by me, because it’s famous American literature. The Hunt for Red October is about the officers aboard a Akula class submarine try to defect to the United States because they hate the communist party and its leaders. The Hunt for Red October has many historically accurate moments in the book but it also has a lot of inaccuracies in it as well. Hunt for Red October is it historically accurate or inaccurate. Tom Clancy or Thomas Leo Clancy Jr was born on April 12, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland to Catherine and Thomas Clancy. In 1948 Jonas loses both his parents because they're deported to Siberia where they will die but the parents saved Jonas and his three sisters by pushing them off the train before they left the station. Jonas and his sisters went to a village and were taken care of. When he was younger Jonas joined the Komsomol(communist youth). As Jonas got older he got drafted into military service where he showed his expertise in nuclear materials and weaponry to prove his confidence to his superiors. He continued his expertise into submarines where he went to a Naval Academy and when he finished he got his hands on the latest Soviet submarine and being its captain. At this point Jonas was already planning on defection and this helped him even more. Before his defection Jonas made a fake wedding for his return that would be a diversion for his defection. Jonas had to rig the electronics and that would show them going on the correct path but in reality they're not going the same way. On his way to Sweden he has to pass a lighthouse but luck was on his side and that lighthouse light was off and this helped him even more and got him closer to Sweden. Jonas finally arrived in the waters outside Sweden and he triggered the ships alarms and told the commissar that he would have to go to shore and find out where they are and that's how he
