By the time Nate returned to the ridge, the agents had gone. He stayed low as he slipped down the cliff and crossed the road into the woods. The agents had left Hajji's car. But Nate hadn't seen them leave, so he couldn't be sure they weren't camouflaged and hiding in the wood. He didn't think so because there was no reason to keep watch, the car's movement could still be tracked through the GPS. But no way had they given up that easy. They probably had people at key points and lots more would probably be coming soon. It occurred to him that they might already have searched the house. Nate turned and headed for the farm. He eyed the back porch wearily as he approach, wondering if an agent was inside. He entered through the kitchen and did a search from room to room. Coast clear. It was one o'clock and his grandparents weren't back. He still hadn't tidied the kitchen the way he promised and went downstairs to get it done. At two-thirty, Nate started to worry. Suppose the agents had taken his grandparents while he was out and now held them for questioning because a terrorist's car had been found on their property? Could federal agents do that? Should he call his parents? Nate went to the music room and dialed first his mom's cell and then his dad's, but got an out of area message for both. Now he knew why his mom wouldn't give up their landline. It was the only way to get a connection between her and her parents. He dialed their home phone, but got the answering machine. He didn't want to worry his parents and just left a message that he had called and that they should call back if they got a chance. He slump in the chair by the phone and jumped when it rang. "Oh, Nathan, there you are. Where have you been? We were worrie... ... middle of paper ... ...ey find this place, I think they will have both exits covered, but you are right. It is best to remain in the middle." "We should probably turn off the lights too. You stay here. I'll go get some flashlights." Nate went down the steps and hurried to the laundry room. He took two of the flashlights his grandparents kept there. Passing through the kitchen again, he grabbed a bunch of bananas and tucked an apple under his arm. When he returned, Hajji was sitting on the floor of the middle landing. Nate switch off the alcove light and on his way up, flipped on a flashlight. He handed Hajji the second flashlight then killed the light on the middle landing as well. He stepped around Hajji then handed him the fruit. Nate leaned against the wall that braced the middle landing and slid to the floor. Just as his rump hit the bottom, the wall behind him shifted inward.

She is basically quite like most people. They treat problems like that. They find ways to escape it. Like booze, drugs, suicide, etc. In Servitor¡¯s case, she stays in the dark room, and finally, leaves her family. As I was reading "The Dark Room¡±, I felt compassion towards Savitri. I can clearly see that she was a confused woman. It was depicted through the first part of the story wherein her son was ill and she told Babu, her son, not to go to school that day. But Ramani intruded upon them and said that Babu has to go to school and that his illness is merely a headache. Savitri didn't know what to do then. She was concerned for Babu¡¯s health, but at the same time, she didn't want to argue with Ramani. In the end, Babu had gone off to school. As for Ramani, I felt like shouting at him while reading the novel because of his bullying.
