Ever since anyone could remember, men have always been above women, but little do they know that at one point women had more power than men. However, the roles of man and woman flipped very quickly and drastically, like a supernova, changing history. And although men dominate most fields of work and important roles, women are very crucial to the stability of society. Without women, we wouldn’t have knowledge about the cause of HIV, molecular structures of coal and graphite, x-ray diffraction, or genetic transportation. But just because women aren’t in power anymore doesn’t mean they are powerless. A gynaecocracy, which is a petticoat government in female power, started to develop in 1755 which then spread, making social gynaecocracy famous in France. (What) During these times when women had the power, there was a club created by Good Men called “The Henpecked Club.” This club was an international network that acted as a meeting place for men that marital support, especially when enduring emotional and physical abuse from their wives. However, they had a strange way of showing support. The club would actively encourage husbands to tolerate their wives’ abuse, and to placate her by any means necessary to moderate her behavior. Members of the club were expected to take their wives breakfast in bed daily, do most of the household chores, even after a hard day's work, with the hope that this would place their wives in a more amiable frame of mind, or unsugarcoated, less abusive mood. These men were also advised to absorb any violence without complaint, and to stoically tolerate it to avoid provoking or further upset his wife.
