Mahatma Gandhi once recited that, “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others”. Service projects help in projecting the giving that people do for the community.

The most significant experiences will not always be based on the scale of extravagant but the results of helping. My NHS were part of the Christmas party for the non-profit organization called AIDS Service of Dallas. They educate, housed, and support families and people who have contracted this affliction. This non-profit organization changed lives for people and create them a new and better life for them to survive. SO we not only provided food for them but we came together as a service club and school to do a toy drive for the kids that are residence there. We were able to provide at least two toys per child. I had my members to bring games and play with the kids while the officers and I prepared the food and the present to give away. …show more content…

Just the facial expressions that these kids have just warmed my heart. I’ve never felt too grateful for NHS to give us this ability and group to help this amazing organization. I’ve never felt so much humility that was across the room. At that moment, I understood what it truly meant to use service for other, the most important pillar of the National Honor Society in my
