The topic of marijuana and the legalization is a widespread topic across the globe. In the documentary The Culture High, they talked about every different aspect of marijuana. They started off talking about the criminalization of marijuana, which occurred globally in 1961. Along with the criminalization, the topic of legalizing marijuana is penetrating the media and even into politics. The documentary talks about the different disorders that marijuana may be linked to causing, but at the same time talks about the medicinal effects of it as well. They also talked about the addictiveness of the drug, and how people do become addicted or dependent on it. 70,000 people have died because of this war, and that includes police officers, mothers, children, and other innocent citizens. After watching The Culture High, I decided to talk about the effects marijuana has on your body, how addictive it may be, and how it affects our school, work, and social life. The use of marijuana has positive and negative effects on a human being, but oftentimes the positive effects outweigh the negative. “First of all, marijuana’s positive effects include euphoria, relaxation, laughter, and talkativeness.” Euphoria is the feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness. While high on marijuana, you will experience these different symptoms. According to the documentary, you will be excited and happy, and you will be relaxed and start being more social as well. Laughter is the best medicine, so if people are stressed or have anxiety, the induced laughter will help your body produce more happy hormones to increase your overall happiness.
