The media that drew our attention is the movie, Freaky Friday. This movie is about a mother and a daughter who find their personalities switched and have to live each other’s lives on one strange Friday. Freaky Friday is a great movie rich in content about different personalities. Dr. Tess Coleman finds her personality switched with her daughter’s, Anna and the most interesting aspect about the two characters is that their personalities are totally opposite. In relation to the field of psychology, we examined both characters’ personalities and used the Big 5 factors of personality theory that was covered in class.
The first character we examined was Anna. She was a fifteen year old high school student and he stayed with her mother, younger brother and grandfather. The first trait, from the “Big Five” personality factors about Anna we noticed at the beginning of the movie was that she was disorganized and careless. Her room looked filthy and her clothes were scattered everywhere and she didn’t care about it. Secondly, Anna was very ruthless.
