Do your parents or guardians give you a curfew for the time you need to be home? You may have to have a curfew anyway. As the city council considers a curfew that makes it illegal for teenager to be on the streets after 10pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends, some of those teenagers are on the streets roaming around doing dangerous activities. Teenagers like to have fun, but sometimes it can go so far that parents start to get worried. Having a curfew for teenagers to be off the streets has numerous advantages and benefits such as teenagers get better study habits, additional sleep, and keeps them from encountering any dangerous drivers or making sure they are not the ones doing the dangerous driving. If teenagers get home at a reasonable time such as 10pm and midnight they could spend an hour studying so they could get better grades in school. Many people could use the study time because they might be failing a class or they did not finish their homework. When teenagers get home earlier they are able to get the studying or homework that is necessary done. Ordinarily when teenagers come home too late they say they are too tired to finish any homework or study. Making sure teenagers get this curfew not only helps teenagers at home, but at school too. Study's show that 80 percent of teenagers do not get the correct amount of sleep. Arriving at their homes at an earlier time gives them a opportunity for more sleep. It is recommended that ages thirteen to nineteen get approximately eight to eleven hours of sleep. However, some teenagers only get two to four hours of sleep. Being off the streets and at home gives you the advantage of more sleep hours. Extra sleep can also hep teenagers be less grouchy and cranky.
