Part of our daily conversation consist technology and how our life involved with that, and as Slack and Wise mentioned there are usually little agreement about what technology is and what is the role of it. The reason for the controversy can be the lack of information about the technology (Slack & Wise, 2015, p. 107-108). Later they explained their concern about our intention in contact with technology, the way we approach it and perception of the act and network. I believe in the larger and more progressive scale these concerns will not be an issue, because technology will have a better ability to make any decision then human beings. Even what they suggest of thinking and analyzing the cultural field will be available through artificial intelligence which is an advance technology.
Slack and Wise conclude that we have to pay close attention to politics and economies because influence of these on technology effects in the way which causes a new problems of technology and culture (Slack & Wise, 2015, p 162). At this point the way we get into assemblage is the way we shape all the related outcomes of that. The main point from this article is that technology is a bigger problem now, technology is supposed to be a beneficial resource but not to the point that we get handled by it. The author strongest asset is the use of pathos to get to the audience emotions and make them believe that he’s right. The audience of this article are people who use technology in an excessive way, which is majority of the people, so he is basically referring to everyone who have a relationship with technology.
Technology, what is it? It’s usually something new, and better than the old idea. Technology started with cars, stoves, TV, radios, etc. Cars takes somebody from one place to another, faster than walking, running, or biking and one could go places without getting tired. Stoves allowed one to conveniently be able to turn on and off heat to a cooking utensil with less clean up. The biggest contributor to making our lives easier would be computers, which has come a long way since its introduction to the world. Also, computers have the ability to be improved more, and more in time. In general, technology started off by comforting our lives. Even though, the arguments put forth by the author are relevant to the central theme, they lack clarity. He tends to go off on tangents and loses the flow of the article. It seems that the author has a slight bias against our generation’s obsession with technology, but that can be attributed to him being a quinquagenarian. I feel that the author has not covered the topic thoroughly enough. He has not quite explained the topic in depth or covered it from various perspectives.
When talking about the future of technology, one can only imagine what it will be down the road. The future of technology evokes many questions about the preservation of human existence, human advancement and intelligence. Some writers even discuss their positions on the future of technology and human kind. Writers such as James J. Bell, who explains the theory of the ‘Singularity’. In summary, he states that the rate of technological advancement, compared to human intelligence, will one day reach the ‘singularity’ were it will surpass the human mind (pg. 52). We may never know if technology will ever have the power to surpass the human intellect or what the consequences will be if it does attain these capabilities. Will humans still maintain control over them, or will they control us? Theses eight articles illustrate the implicit and explicit control that technology holds over humans in the future.

For better understanding, it is important to analyze the analysis of Sherry Turkle of the computer as a reminiscent object and the human relationship with the object. Turkle’s observations on the identity online and its characteristics will be highlighted. Turkle discusses the impact of technology in human life through the young minds of students that she evidently observed. She further argues that the technology that embeds “in a culture that supports democracy, freedom of expression, tolerance, diversity, and complexity of opinion is one of the next decade’s greatest challenges” (Turkle, 2004). This paper will discuss whether the evocative object (i.e. computer) has helped to find the identity of the users or induced the users to lose their identity. Even though there are negative impacts from the advanced technology, Sherry Turkle proves that how technology has changed the way of leaning and thinking that helps to find the identity of individuals.
“The social determination of technology is the social circumstances of technological development, deployment and use” (Winner, 1986, p.21). When discussing politics, Winner refers to authorities in society and how people behave under that power (Winner, 1986, p.22). Winner states two ways in which artefacts have politics; first, when the invention, design or arrangement of a technology becomes a way of resolving an issue in a particular society, and when there are ‘inherently political technologies’, that is, artificial systems requiring specific types of political relationships (Winner, 1986, p. 22). Winner formed his theory on political artefacts as a means of understanding which technologies and contexts are significant and why, and that it “is an enterprise that must involve both the study of specific technical systems and their history as well as a thorough grasp of the concepts and controversies of political theory” (Winner,1986, p.39). These theories were formed through the influence of the ideas of others including Lewis Mumford, William Morris, Dennis Hayes and Karl Marx, who all discussed the influence of particular technologies upon society (Winner, 1986, pp.19-20).
Multiple identities have been increased by the creation of cyberspace communications according to "Cyberspace and Identity" by Sherry Turkle. Turkle uses four main points to establish this argument. Her first point is that online identity is a textual construction. Secondly she states that online identity is a consequence-free moratorium. Turkle's third point is online identity expands real identity. Finally, her last point states that online identity illustrates a cultural concept of multiplicity. I disagree with many aspects of her argument and I have found flaws in her argument. Technology is an area that does not stand still and consequently outpaced Turkle's argument.
The author's point of view was to inform the reader of the technology change and how everyone will be affected by this change in every social aspect. I thought this chapter was helpful because it informed me of the past, and I realize we came a long way as far as technology is concern.

Society has been impacted both negatively and positively by technology. As a result, every aspect of our lives has been influenced by technology. Hence, life is easier, yet it has taken away some of the enjoyment. For example, remember the days of less stress and more personal interaction, when there were no online messages, no emails, social media or cell phones. We have become excessively dependent on technology. As a result, we need to rely less on technology even though it has made learning fun, and business, daily tasks, work, travel, shopping, making new friends and staying in touch easier.
