Technology is ever so increasingly working its way into the various components of our daily lives and lifestyles. With the continuous development and improvements being made, many argue that it will not be long until technology reaches a point that mankind loses the ability to control that which we have created. In American society, the “Wildman” occupies many different forms throughout various cultures. AI (artificial intelligence) already exists today, although is bounded to merely trivial tasks. It is commonly believed and feared that someday technology and AI computers will advance as to surpass the knowledge and intelligence of mankind. Technology and artificial intelligence exist with the purpose of maximizing the chance of success at some goal and aiding in the processes of learning and problem solving. If God created man in his own image, will man create an artificially intelligent robot in the image of himself? When the time comes where a critical decision is decided by a computer, there is no sense to believe that its conclusion will be based upon human ethical fundamentals. So many elements prevail in the composition of human thought and cognition that creating an artificial form of intelligence that mirrors such a balance proves to be a tremendous feat. The anxiety that stems from the “AI Wildman” comes from the very understanding (or lack thereof) of the massive complexities of human composition. No individual is perfect, for everybody contains their own unique flaws which make us individual from each other.
