I am evaluating my team criteria on communication, collaboration and time management. I am going to rate them 1 =poor, 2 = fair, 3= Good & 4 = Excellent. The entire group will receive a grade in each of the category mentioned.
Communications played a vital role in our project. The team performance on the entire project depended on our communication skills and therefor in the early stage of the project we all agreed and put emphasis on this subject. We exchanged phone numbers so that we could either contact via text and verbal. We also sat up “WhatsApp” so that the entire group could chat. We did not communicate and elaborate the area that each part of the assignment required specific posting within the doc. Team members posted their parts in random spots and caused the document to be incomprehensive. It was inappropriate to make judgements, interpret the data and draw conclusion that the posted assignment was irrelevant to the project needs. The confusing postings lead one member or other to deleting others’ post, causing an uproar. None of team members owned deleting work within the document. This caused aggressive behavior and lead to misunderstandings. Our ability, concepts and methods deteriorated as we progressed. There was minimal substantive team discussion and team goals, roles, procedure and responsibilities were being neglected. The team facilitated a meeting on campus and concluded that every Sunday the team would get together at the college for presentation and resolve conflicting parts within the assignment. This seemed to work for about two weeks before it started to fall apart. After the second Sunday meeting one to two members would not be available on progressing Sundays. …show more content…

I have learned through our team efforts success and failures that is important to have a log of entries. Log entries is required so that either an entry or deletion within the doc is trackable. Another observation that I made is that a team requires strong leadership to facilitate presentation and resolve conflicts. The leader requires excellent communications skills in both verbal and non-verbal. Projects require progressive briefings and track implementation of progress. I have also learnt that before project or assignment is deliverable, it requires a formal presentation to the team so that they can evaluate.
