The lecture presented by the two men involved with the Tap House Restaurant here in Manhattan was very interesting, thought provoking and relevant. I really enjoyed how the two rather separate organizations were able to come together and create a profitable and successful dining establishment. I was inspired by the stories the men told of their career, and the steps they took to get to the point they are at today. I consider myself a hard worker, but upon hearing their stories I am now more motivated. I would ultimately like to run and possibly own a hunting lodge and I know it would require an incredible amount of work. At this current time I am going to continue to push myself in my classes and my networking in order to better prepare myself for my future.
Another takeaway from the lecture was the idea of partnership. The presenters really opened my eyes and made me realize the truth behind partnerships. Everyone wants to go into business with their best friend until things start to not go well. In the hunting lodge industry partnerships are very common and I am going to have to be careful to only get into a partnership that I know will be a good fit. The presenters remarked that they had very similar ideals and values, regardless of their different

They both remarked that they had very understanding and supportive wives who helped and encouraged them through the great risks they have taken in their career. It made me realize that if I am going to get into an industry like this, which requires much more than a 9-5 job, I am going to have to have someone by myside who is very understanding. I will need someone who I can lean on and someone who can, and is willing, to help me turn my dream into a reality. I believe this also applies to more than spouses; I will need supportive friends and family surrounding me and encouraging me along the
Even though my time in SlS has been only for six weeks I think that this course has truly benefited me because I have learn a great deal from all of the different speakers that have stepped into our classroom along from my professor and peer mentor . They each left me with a new perspective on how I should tackle my goals to be successful. I’ve learned that time management is key in order to get task and assignments done in a reasonable amount of time, proper note taking skills, how to work in groups and do presentations, stress management, financial decisions are also keys things that I have learned. Most importantly what I’ve gained out of this class is networking because its not about who you know its about who knows you. This stood out
I liked how you were able to change the status indicator of how well you knew the material on each question, that made it easier to score point and not lose as many when you got it wrong. I also liked that after getting five consecutive questions in a row right that it started giving you bonus points for it. Also if you got five wrong in a row that it would tell you to take a break and come back later after a certain amount of time so you could gather your thoughts a bit. All of the PowerPoints and mini games and quizzes located throughout each module really helped me and definitely broadened my understanding of everything throughout the semester. What lessons that I will take with me is that everything has a bigger meaning in the world. There is more that goes into society than we know and it makes me want to think deeper about how it all works. Each person and group plays a role in society and there are so many aspects about each one that it is never the same, which is insane. After this course I will be able to analyze patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture better, which I think is important especially when you are an active member of society and just in
Attending an NA meeting during finals was one of my smarter decisions, as I procrastinate my work until the very last minute this week. However, in my opinion, going to a meeting was a good type of procrastination compared to other things I could be doing. Instead of going with the same friend this time, I asked a friend who was struggling with a ________ addiction. Not knowing that I was aware of his addiction, I asked him to join so I didn’t have to go alone; and he was more than happy to join me. I was very happy he agreed to join, because hopefully it helps him with his personal addiction, and he continues to return to the meetings.
On Saturday 12/10/2016 at about 2210 hours, I, Officer Steven Evans responded to a dispatched call (51D) Disorderly Patient in E.D. for room #40 and this was Security third call tonight for this room. The patient, Debra Lynn Bolger (DOB: 06/28/58–Fin #86564069), once again had gotten out of her room and walked over to the nurses’ station in violent and threatening manner. Patient Bolger knocked down a Laptop that was on the desk next to the Nurse. Upon arrival, at 2211 hours I observed the patient agitated in her room and Nurse Jacquelyn Vaninguen overwhelmed by the incident. I spoke first with Nurse Vaninguen to make sure that she was Ok and then asked her to accompany me into the patient room. Once I entered the room, I spoke to the patient

This is a reflective essay based on my attendance at a multidisciplinary team (MDT) meeting whilst on my two-week placement at a local mental health day hospital. The aim of this essay is to discuss the importance of the multidisciplinary team within the mental health environment and discuss factors that can influence the success or failure of multidisciplinary teams.
Overall, this course has provided me with one thing. . . hope. Hope that we will one day there will be unity among all of the human race; man, woman, child, black, white, gay, straight.
I found this presentation especially interesting. I thought that both of the women were especially interesting. Both of them seamed to bring a lot to the table as well as seaming to have a great sense of humor.
On September 22, 2014, Wissahickon School District held a school board meeting to be updated on daily events or decisions in the community. The President, Charles McIntyre, led the meeting that started with roll call, the Pledge of Allegiance, and the welcoming of guests. The people on board stated they would go off the agenda because Tina Viletto from the I.U. just arrived from a day trip to Harrisburg to attend hearings on the state education system. She informed us that basic education funding was the problem; in response to the situation, the state government passed the cigarette tax in Philadelphia. She also described the funding factors that make up the education spending formula.
The first meeting consisted of brainstorming ideas around student issues, including how to recruit students, to retain students, and to help them achieve their goals. To provide my coworkers with time to think about the issues, I sent out the overarching topic with the meeting invite one week prior to our scheduled meeting date. This allowed them the opportunity to gather their thoughts, and several of them attended the meeting with a list of ideas on the topic already. When I asked for ideas to start off the process, one coworker volunteered a couple of ideas she had written down, and the rest of the generated ideas were piggybacked on her initial start. At the end of our meeting, we reviewed the notes they had brought with them to make sure the ideas that had initially written down was covered in some way.
From the beginning, where we were unfamiliar with each other and became a team, my team and I had started to learn each other name and getting to know each other. Throughout each meeting, we slowly start to feel more comfortable and open minded with each other. Not only are we getting familiar with each other, each meeting that was held we progress of becoming an effective team member, we learn our strengths and weaknesses of everyone. During the meetings, we learn many concepts from the textbook, “Communicating in Small Groups: Principles and Practices” by Steven A. Beebe and John T. Masterson. We were able to learn different types of concept in the textbook and utilized it as a team to complete certain tasks. The three concepts that impacted my team and I are human
Based on the small group that I joined in communication class, I will talk about what is working well and what is getting in the way in our group. Then I will discuss about what I can do to improve the group and the things about group project if there is a chance for a start over again. At last, I am also going to talk about what I think that I learned is an important lesson in this semester.
In terms of Personal Development I feel that the course has helped me to develop the skills I need to improve my grades, and to build my confidence.
I have really enjoyed the class. I have learned about relationships and have been enlightened on not only how we share love, but as well how we express it. What has surprised me the most is the amount I have learned about myself. I have been able to see the different types of relationships that I have in my life and how they have both positively and negatively affected me. I look forward to learning more about relationships and how they relate to gender development and more importantly I hope to learn more about myself. I know that everything I am learning now, I’ll be able to apply to my future career of social
