The Tales of Terror inspired many books and movies based on its combination of genres. The Tales of Terror is a series of movies filmed in 1962 by Roger Corman. The series is most known for the combination of Horror and Comedy used in it, and the use of the work from Edgar Allen Poe. Also, Why did the writers of the movie decide to add comedy to a horror movie? Finally, Many movies and films were inspired by the movie series and the books by Edgar Allen Poe. The Tales of Terror is most known as one of the first movies that incorporated a mixture of horror and comedy (99) into the movies. Roger Corman had directed and created many movies and television shows already (mostly horror), but wanted to add something new to some of his movies. For example, that year he created another movie called the Premature Burial, and according to rottentomatoes.com, much of this movie was also greatly based on the dramatic stories and books of Mr. Poe. The genres of this movie was horror, drama, and mystery (158). Moreover, Mr. Corman based many of his movies on Poe’s books and stories. The Premature Burial is an example of this. Equally important, the Tales of Terror used a new combination that helped make more movies, like the Evil Dead. The movies also inspired many books, such as the Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove. Finally, without the books and stories by Mr. Poe, The Tales of Terror would not have been possible, and without Cormans creativity, the new genre would have not been as popular as it is now.
