Straatsma ENG2D0 7 November 2017 Book Analysis The action and thriller book Switched by Amanda Hocking is about this seventeen year old girl named Wendy Everly and the special powers she had from being a Trylle. CHARACTERS The main character or the protagonist of this book is Wendy Everly. Wendy is seventeen years old. She has curly dark hair and brown eyes. She’s not like everyone else, Wendy’s “different”. Wendy was given off to another family at a young age because of her biological mother. Wendy’s mother tried to kill her because of Wendy not appreciating a present that was given to her on her birthday. Elora/ Wendy’s mother really loves Wendy and cares about her a lot. Another relation that Wendy has is with Finn. Finn is Wendy’s protector/ guardian. Wendy also has a brother named Matt. CONFLICTS …show more content…

Elora tries to kill Wendy because Wendy was throwing a tantrum during Wendy’s birthday party as she was turning six. Wendy did not like the present that was given to her. Elora says “you’re certainly not my child” (4) and then she drags Wendy to the kitchen and tries to kill/ stab Wendy but Elora is stopped by Wendy’s brother Matt. Matt then takes Wendy to another room and tries to comfort her. The second main conflict in this book is when Wendy decides to go on a walk and then gets attacked by two trackers who try to kidnap Wendy and take her hostage, but Finn comes to the rescue and saves Wendy but the tells Wendy that she is not safe her and has to be alert because she is a Trylle. The last main conflict is near the end of the book where Jen the Vittra tracker who tried to kidnap Wendy before knocking Rhys unconscious but then Finn returns almost dying trying to save Wendy then having a young Markis to come and save Finn’s life and to finally get rid of Jen for
