In Hungry, Hungry Homer, Homer Simpson goes on a hunger strike because the owner of the Springfield Isotopes would not tell the truth. They were planning to move the baseball team to Albuquerque. He is an active citizen because he is defending what he believes and his actions are justified. An active citizen is a person who will question why things around them are the way they are, in their community and wants to make the community better. Homer Simpson was questioning the new owner of the Isotopes, because his friend wanted to return his season pass to the Isotopes. When he found out that the owner wanted to move the team to Albuquerque he tried to make the community aware of it. When all the new Albuquerque Isotopes merchandise was gone
