Dear Harmon William Hubbard Scholarship Endowment Fund, I want to tell you a short but life-changing story about a day. It was an ordinary day which was about to become way may more different from others that have passed. As the day started, I got asked the question of which was being discussed every day since I got accepted to AUA. That question was if I have received a letter about my financial tuition. After getting the usual “no” as an answer, my family continued its usual routine. As you may know, it was a hot summer day so I was eating ice-cream along with my family members when something occurred to me and I took my phone to check it and there it was: an email that had “financial tuition” written on the subject part. I realized that email was going to decide whether I am going to attend the college of my dreams or not. When I opened and read it, my mouth could not say a word. This university was the perfect fit for me because I want to study classes like human rights, psychology, philosophy, art. I also want to dig deeper in fields like journalism and public relations and this is why I chose English and Communications as my major. I am sure I will engage in university life and become the student I have always dreamed of becoming: determined, intelligent, open-minded and open to discovering the world as a completely new place. As I have already mentioned, I am passionate about journalism and I also have an experience since I have interned as a teenage journalist in one of Armenia’s TV stations, I am planning on joining the university newspaper “The bridge” and do what I love most: write and speak up. There is another field without which I do not imagine myself and that is theatre so I want to join the drama club. I hope that my experience of nine years of playing in theater will pay off and I will enjoy being a part of AUA theatre
