The main point of this documentary is a strong one. Strong Island is a documentary describing the effects of a crime going without justice to a family that had no other option but to move on. The documentary goes into the lives of the family of William Ford’s family and friends before and after his murder. In 1992 A 24-year-old man named William Ford Jr. was murdered in cold blood by Mark Reilly with a .22 long rifle in the back of a body shop garage. Strong Island is a film documenting the life of William Ford and his family before and after Mr. Ford’s life was abruptly brought to an end. The film takes place in present time having the siblings, friends, and mother of Mr. Ford speak in depth about the events that occurred the night he was murdered and the impact the events after had on the family. …show more content…

She refuses, she does not want to be documented on camera or on the phone and firmly turns down all opportunity to give a statement. The phone call ends with Yancy politely thanking the woman for her time and hanging up the phone. After watching the rest of the film this introduction alone leaves a strong statement about how unjust this case was. She states that she cannot speak about cases. Which is a respectable answer, but her refusal to comment and her stern, unapologetic, answers signal more than her wishes to remain professional. It could be assumed that she feels embarrassed, ashamed, or maybe even regretful about the case. Or maybe she is the complete opposite, but her reaction to the call cannot be thrown to the side.
