There are many things in life that are tedious and challenging. One of the things in the life of a student is school. Students have to work hard to get good grades so they can get into a good college, but grades are no longer something to worry about. Students need to worry about standardized tests to be able to get into a good college and sometimes even graduate. Stares all over the country require students to take exams that show their intellectual abilities, but it falls short in doing so. School districts have shaped and planned their curriculum around standardized testing. Specific classes are made to prepare students, but in recent years standardized testing has been found to be detrimental towards students educationally and psychologically suggesting that public schools shouldn’t require students to take them. …show more content…

Standardized tests has been a hot topic for a couple years now, and it’s just getting started as more and more pressure is being put on students. Like every debate it has its pros and cons. Some pros that come with standardized tests are that it “Gives teachers guidance on student learning and their own teaching practices” (“Pros and Cons of Standardized Testing”). Teachers can see how their teaching practices are affecting the students. If they are doing a good job or if they need to improve in some areas. With every debate there has to be problems, and with topic it has many cons. People that are against standardized testing argue that testing has made rivalries between schools to have the best scores while forgetting the true goal which is the benefit of the student (Pros and Cons of Standardized Testing).
