Squidbillies is an animated cartoon show about talking squids living in a random county in the Appalachian Mountains. Dougal County, the setting of this comedy, is a dusty, distorted place in which the squids wreak havoc everywhere they go. The show follows the patriarch of the Cuyler clan; Early, the alpha squid himself, drinks heavily, chain smokes, and talks ‘shit' (in colloquial terms) to everyone he encounters.
I first encountered the Squidbillies when I was fourteen. The preview had me so enthralled I had to know more about it. A TV show about a talking hillbilly squid was such a novel idea. Squidbillies fills a void in my life that I didn't know was there.
Squidbillies is a mystifying blend of irony, satire, and visual humor that leaves its audience bursting at the seams with laughter; making it a must see.
The show is a series of eleven-minute episodes. These episodes are jam packed with ironic inconsistencies in terms of plot structure and characters. While most shows have a unified plot that follows a certain order in each episode, Squidbillies takes the scrambled eggs approach to plot structure. The plots of Squidbillies episodes sometimes avoid the traditional elements of plot structure all together. Sometimes the show is anticlimactic. At times the show avoids exposition, slides into a resolution, and then moonwalks into a climax. As far as character traits are concerned, there are running jokes associated with the character's identities. Granny is either Early's mother or grandmother. There are hundreds of jokes associated with their ambiguous relationship. Early has a tenuous relationship with Granny to say the least. At times Early is loving and tender; sometimes he is harsh. .... Things like this happen because the creators are so involved in the animation process, detailing each frame. The small team of animators doesn't use CGI, so every episode is drawn by hand. All of this provides an improved viewing experience. Another reason why the show is so good compared to other comedies is the 11minute run-time.
A short run-time is convenient for viewers; a lot of laughs in a little bit of time will always be satisfying.
Squidbillies is a show for young adults who can appreciate the culture of the Appalachian mud squid. It's rollercoaster ride of vulgar language, dirty jokes, and social commentary. Everyone should not only watch Squidbillies, but also re-watch it because there is always something overlooked in an episode. Go home, sit down, and appreciate Squidbillies for the fine single malt barrel aged party-liquor that it is.

Children across the world enjoy the television show Spongebob for its loveable characters and humor. The most prominent of these characters is Spongebob Squarepants, a personified sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea, in a town called Bikini Bottom. He spends the majority of his time working as a chef at the Krusty Krab, a fast food restaurant run by a greedy crab named Mr. Krabs. Spongebob’s neighbor and co-worker, Squidward Tentacles, has a very cynical view of life, constantly complaining about Spongebob and praising the clarinet and other arts. Across from Spongebob lives his best friend, Patrick Star, a starfish known for little intelligence and extensive sleeping. Most episodes, he and Spongebob act on a new idea which leads to various consequences. Sandy Cheeks, a squirrel from Texas, sometimes joins Spongebob and Patrick in their adventures. While the show is marketed to children, it has many qualities suitable for teenagers and adults including occasional sophisticated humor and philosophical references. Two philosophies referenced in the show are Epicureanism and Existentialism. Epicurean beliefs are shown through Sandy and Mr. Krabs, while Squidward and Patrick showcase Existentialism.
The contrasting worlds are epitomized in the title of the story. Uncle Wiggly is a reference to children's stories about a whimsical rabbit. Connecticut is the chosen gathering place of the phony Madison Avenue exurbanites (French 22).

That 70’s show was probably one of the funniest television shows that have aired throughout the late 90’s to early 2000’s. The show no longer air new episodes however, old episodes are occasionally aired on ABC family and sometimes MTV. The cast did a great job basing the show on life in the 70’s even though it was really produced in the 90’s to early 2000’s. The characters from the show are still making headlines today for example Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis are reportedly engaged and actress Lisa Robin Kelly past away due to multiple drug intoxication. It would’ve been awesome if the show comes back even if they change it to live in the 80’s or 90’s.

In addition, the intended audience is identical twins and can also be related to brother and sister siblings. Furthermore, there are two types of humor that are portrayed throughout the film, Slapstick and sophomoric humor. Moreover, the plot of the movie was not bad; however, the cheap jokes and themes portrayed such as the role of female character being offended and dishonored, various stereotypes were seen throughout the film, and inequality to gender role made the film more offensive and distasteful instead of humorous and fun. This is especially prominent in Coralie, who faces many challenges in relation to her appearance, often putting herself down for the way that she looks. This reveals that this problem doesn’t merely exist today alone, but extends back as far as the early twentieth century. I was astonished to see a universal problem such as this so pronounced in a remarkably different era, despite the drastic change in women’s rights. Being a teenager is a lot of fun especially when you do not have many responsibilities. A teenager watching other teenagers lose most of their freedom gives them an eye opening experience. These shows provide a lot of educational information and teach serious life lessons. Although it may seem easygoing to teenagers, teenage childhood has a lot of sad and scary moments that most are not yet ready for.
