Recommended: Examples of how the evolution of sport happens

Overview: I plan to make my film about the obsession over sports in our country. I will try and ponder the question of why people love sports so much. I will explore the reasoning, thought process, and emotions that cause 70,000 people to pile into a cramped stadium and screen their heads off on Saturday mornings. I will explore the history of sports and how they evolved to what they have today. I will try and discover how and why as a society we evolved our sports from naked fights to the death to sports with floating hoops and circular orange balls. Along the way, I plan to explore some tangent questions related to sports. For example, I will look at the orgin of human sport and how the complicity of sports evolved. I will show how sports are played in many buildings, parks, and areas of differing sizes. I will try to work on screen the effects sports have on peoples life, wether its socially, emotionally, or psychologically. I will try to get on screen the pasion for sports people have and then try to rationally explain these emotions. I think I will do this by filming scenes at large football games, as well as at smaller games around the area. This will help me to show the passion and energy invested in sports-at any level. I will also try and do this by incoorperating several interviews of sports lovers like my self, which will hopefully help to show this …show more content…

I will film some scenes on at big sporting events, such as Iowa Hawkeye football games and at a Dallas Cowboys football game I will be attending, as well as smaller sporting events, such as pickup games at the basketball court outside my dorm, the rec field and the local city park. I will film on the streets of Iowa City and Coralville as well, as I will need to interview people about the nature of sports and sports in our society. Finally, I will film some quiet areas of campus to serve as my interludes and thinking periods during my film. I will use this footage in my film. I will rewatch all of the film and then cut and edit the parts I want to be used in the film. I will attend all the worksheats you Mr. Kurth provides and hopefully learn some editing skills to use to edit and make my film come alive.
