Meredith Jessie was in the midst of enjoying time with her terminally ill grandfather when her and her grandfather’s lives were abruptly taken. Cheyanne Jessie, the mother of Meredith Jessie reported her daughter and her father missing on August 1, 2015 in Polk County, Florida. She told the police the last time she heard from them was a couple weeks prior to August 1st. In a statement to the police Jessie said, “He (her father) had a terminal illness and had less than a year to live and wanted to spend his remaining days with his granddaughter.” After extraneous investigation the authorities found one factor of the investigation a bit peculiar. Consequently, the authorities decided to interrogate Cheyanne. Countless inconsistencies in her story led detectives to doubt that she was telling the truth. After a collection of evidence and numerous hours of investigating the authorities came to the conclusion that Cheyanne Jessie was responsible for the deaths of her six year old daughter and 50 year old father. Cheyanne murdered her daughter and father in cold blood on July 18, 2015 by brutally stabbing and shooting them to death. As if the murders of her own family members weren’t enough, Cheyanne proceeded to hide their bodies in plastic tote bins, which she placed in her landlord’s shed while he was away on vacation.
