Song Analysis: If I Could Turn Back Time

In writing this paper, it makes one reflect over life. The song “If I Could Turn Back Time” and the old saying ‘If I knew then what I know now” came to mind. When you are with somebody, you do not stop and think they will be gone at an early age. If I knew the person I will be writing about would be gone, I ponder on all of the time, questions, and words that would have, could have, should have taken place.
I would like to tell you a little bit about the person that I wish I could see again. His name was Micky Barnica, but I referred to him as “Uncle Mick”. He was a big stout guy, strong, smart, and he had a big heart. He knew that money was not everything and one needed to be happy at what you do in life. When the chance came up to return home due to family health, he jumped at the chance to come back home. He was happy and would comment that his purpose in life was to take care of the land. Although young, that was a lesson to me, to be peace with oneself and always work hard.
When I was young, Uncle Mick would take the time and play with siblings and myself. He would do everything such as chasing me, playing board games, and card games. I would watch history on television with him, and old War Movies. We not only played but there was hours of fishing, hunting, and game being cleaned, which was all fun for a young boy like me.
One of my fondest memories was our roaming over the land where he lived. He loved his guns, hunting, fishing, and trapping. Our family and Uncle Mick would go hunting together. We would start out in the early morning. The day was filled with the fun of being together, talking, and with luck we would have a deer harvested before the sun went down. It all seemed like a fun adventure to me, and never did the thought of what to come entering my
