How it has evolved the skateboard

Skating originally had its humble beginnings during the past half century. At that time, young people took the proposal to do it yourself, building tables with wheels that could be used with interchangeable parts. Since then, skating has become a popular sport with widespread recognition. The skateboard has also changed over the years, engaging the evolution of the sport to become a highly specialized and precise sports equipment.

Origins

Further improvements
Significant improvements revitalized the sport of skating in early 1970. During this time, polyurethane wheels were invented by Richard Nasworthy. These tires were hard and tough, with good traction and shock absorption compared to old tires of metal or ceramic. Over time, the skateboard was extended up to 9 inches (22.86 cm) or more, to provide a more stable platform.

Recognition
Like skating waned in 1970, a small group of enthusiasts began developing new tricks that would boost their skills to the limit. Alan "Ollie" Gelfand, discovered how to raise his skateboard into the air, inventing the trick later bear his name, Ollie. This and other tricks opened a new world for skaters. The National Skateboarding Assiciation (National Skating Association), founded in 1981, contributed to the skating was more respected.
