Consequentialism is the moral view that for any given consequences was determined by that person’s actions, while Utilitarianism is the action that best benefits the majority. In the MCU, Marvel Cinematic Universe, we have someone who clearly represents both, that someone is Tony Stark or better known as Iron Man. In the first movie of the timeline, Iron Man, Tony Stark was originally a weapons dealer using cutting edge technology and his skills to create mass weapons and selling them off to vendors, mainly the United States Armed Forces. This “armor” was an artificial intelligence peace keeping program decrypted from the Mind Stone that was once located in Loki’s Scepter. Intentionally, he was used to protect the earth from domestic and extraterrestrial threats that could be possible in the near future. Ultron horrified after viewing footage of his creator, Howard Stark, and other heroes, deemed the world to deemed the avenger’s and the humans dangerous to humankind and the only way to protect them was mass genocide. On the other hand, J.A.R.V.I.S., Stark’s main A.I. and best friend, was on the other spectrum. He attempted to call for his master, but was ‘destroyed’ by Ultron. J.A.R.V.I.S. scattered himself across the internet to block Ultron who was afraid of him and went underground to prevent Ultron from gaining the codes. After Stark managed to regain J.A.R.V.I.S.’s memories, he and Bruce attempted to place him in the synthetic body Ultron was creating for himself with the help of Thor through his lightning, creating Vision, similar to Ultron without the megalomaniacal aspects.
