Finding Dory, the newest Disney Pixar movie and the sequel to Finding Nemo, features our favorite Disney Fish, Dory, Marlin, and Nemo. Dory, a blue tang, and defined by her blue body and yellow stripe, suffers from short term memory loss. She meets Marlin, on his quest to find Nemo, after he gets taken by a scuba diver. Marlin is a clownfish, who is very overprotective over his son Nemo, after the rest of his family was killed. Nemo on the other hand, loves adventure, which comes from his father being overprotective. Dory meets new friends like Destiny, Dory’s old “pipe-pal”, and Hank, an octopus scared of humans on her journey to find her parents.
Finding Dory takes place approximately one year after when Finding Nemo takes place. When Dory joins Nemo and his class on a field trip to the sting ray migration, she gets swept by the undertow and knocked unconscious. At the same time, Hank and Destiny help get Dory to “The Open Ocean Museum” where Dory realizes her parents are not there and all fish similar to Dory are in captivity. She swims through the pipes, where she bumps into Marlin and Nemo, and Destiny leads her through the pipes to quarantine. At quarantine, she meets up with the other Blue Tangs, where she can’t seem to find her parents. The Blue Tangs explain to Dory that her parents are not here, and they think her parents are dead. She panics and gets sent off the dock and into the ocean while the rest of the Blue Tangs and Marlin and Nemo are getting put into a truck. While in the ocean, she calms down, looks around, and makes many realizations like that she likes sand because sand is squishy. This leads her to find sea shells, which helps her remember what her parents told her, “When you’re lost follow the shells
