I think students should have their own room because it will be easier to not always have to hide your stuff or worry about something coming up missing. We still should have rules of course that’s were ever you go. The cleaning should stay the same; along with cleaning out your locker and going to bed on time. But we always have problems with stuff coming up missing out of people rooms. We usually think its people coming from other room and entering ours. But no it’s not all the time. In our American society it is the role of the president to devise plans that will benefit our society as a whole. He might suggest that he has this plan to solve global warming our maybe he has concerns with the way a certain policy should be. Like presidents of the past president Obama has concerns and changes of his own he would like to put into place. Community colleges offer a wide range of degrees for cutting edge technical careers in today 's industries that help bridge opportunities to higher economic class. President Obama hopes to put into action policy that would make community college free to productive members of our American society this is an issue that merits a careful evaluation at both sides of the argument.
When people think about a room for children to reside, they do not always take into consideration all the aspects that go into making a room ideal for children. I agree whole-heartedly with what the authors are stating in the article. Environments should reflect what interests the children, as well as educators’ goals and objectives for a space. A developmentally appropriate space for children should reflect on both the educator and the children. There is no point in creating a space that is “perfect” for the teacher. If it does not meet the children’s needs; chaos will ensue. But as a teacher, I also understand the importance of maintaining a space that is orderly and flows nicely to keep my sanity. There is a happy medium that must be met in finding the right materials to be used, space and furniture arrangement, and overall flow of the room to satisfy everyone. But I do believe it is important to keep the needs of the children above the educator’s because without the children, there would be no job. With that being said, creating an environment for children that promotes their creativity with open-ended materials, and furniture that helps keep them centered, with like pillows and soft materials to calm down when needed, is very beneficial. When I moved to California two weeks before school started, I had difficulty looking for places to live around County Community College. This is because community colleges don’t usually have on-campus housing facilities for students. This made life very difficult for me because I was brand new to the area and I knew no one. My dad did help me by calling up one of his friends and asked if I could stay at their house temporarily until I was able to find a place I could live at, that was near school because I didn’t have a car at the time. The day I finally found a place to live, school was almost about to start. When I went to check the house out, I really disliked it there because there was no cooking allowed, the only time I could use the stove was to boil water. There were even curfews enforced because poor wooden floorboards would alert everyone whenever someone would walk around just to grab a cup of water or a snack at night. Another limitation was that the landlady had ridiculous shower curfews that I had to follow. The house was very unclean and unhygienic due to the lack of maintenance and care provided for the building. There was no other choice but to live there because it was the closest place to school, that was within walking or biking distance, I could find because I didn’t know how to take the bus in this new country. This is what leads me to believe that County Community College should see if it’s feasible to construct an on-campus housing facility for students because it is able to help a large variety of students in various ways.
The focus of this paper is to dispel a common view that community colleges do not provide on-campus housing and to provide greater insights into the types of community colleges that provide on-campus housing, the typical student who resides in on-campus housing, a guide to various California community colleges that provide on-campus housing, and the impact that on-campus housing has on student learning outcomes, financial gains for community colleges that provide on-campus housing, and an overview of the lack of data in the area of not only on-campus housing in community colleges, but community colleges at large. According to Cohen and Brawer (2008) access to student housing is one of the fundamental dissimilarities between public community colleges and four-year institutions of higher learning (p. 220). Cohen and Brawer (2008) take the position that community colleges lack the all-encompassing ability to appreciate the connectedness of community in the same fashion as that of four-year colleges or universities. Broader analysis of current data relating to on-campus housing in rural community colleges is three-fold. First, it exposes the lack of concrete observation or empirical data on the issues that surround community colleges with respect to on-campus housing. A lot of students need to be able to take care of their responsibilities. Sometimes, my father is not always in town to pay the water bill, this is where I come in. The time given to us during lunch is the time that I use to go and pay that water bill. There are also those students who have sick and/or elderly relatives that need assistance. Students are able to leave campus to go help their relative with whatever they may need. Do you like puppies? Cats maybe? Well, guess what? There are students who need to feed their pets. If you have a pet, you wouldn’t want it to starve all day till you get home from school would you? I know I wouldn’t. A lot of students take the time to go home and feed their animals during lunch time.

When I began my senior year, the number one thing which people asked me was where I was going to college. Whether they actually knew me or not, that would be the first thing they asked once they found out I was in the final stretch of my high school career. Now, I obviously had a pre-planned answer for them, since I had answered the question so many times, but I always found it to be peculiar that people didn’t actually care at all about what I was going to do with my life; they just wanted to know where I was going to get my expensive piece of paper from.
Should IPU totally ban alcohol on campus? Some student finds it is hard to answer that question, and most of male student would answer “it does depend on the situation and the mood bro.”. It is not a secret that alcoholic drinks could make a person feel better and more relax especially for a man, if he experiencing depression or stress males often hangout with their friend to overcome their struggle, even I used to drink alcohol sometimes whenever I had problems with my school life, relationship or if I fell under pressure. Even though alcoholic drinks can have some temporary stress relieving benefit, alcohol has plenty of bad side effects for individual and their social environment. Most Universities ban alcoholic drinking on their campuses, but some campus still allow student to drink alcohol in designated areas or for certain events, like our beloved IPU campus for example. Beside the fact that IPU already provide events (e.g. Ball party) that allow student to drink certain amount of alcohol, it is still common for students to break the rules by drink alcohols in the dormitories. Therefore this essay will cover the pro’s and con’s that will be discussed about this topic.
College is a life altering experience. It is a place where you leave anything and everything you have ever known, to come to a place where nothing is familiar. The summer before your freshman year of college can be a nerve racking experience. You anxiously wait for the day when the mailman will bring you that envelope that holds your fate. Enclosed in this envelope is the name of your roommate. Your roommate can have the biggest influence on your freshmen year. They can turn into your best friend or your worst enemy. You anticipate the day when you actually get to meet the person you will be living with for the whole year. At Penn State there are no guarantees that you will have anything in common with your roommate at all, and that is a scary thing.

If I can have respect for my students as well as having them respecting each other, I believe this leads to a safe environment where learning can take place. I am not a stickler for gum chewing or eating and drinking as long as it does not interfere with learning and doesn’t make a mess. I would like to give my kids the freedom to eat or drink as long as they are responsible for their trash and mess. If it gets out of control, I will let them know that the privilege will be taken away, right from the beginning. I would enforce no hats on inside the building or classroom because not only can they be a major distraction, but it is not polite to have a hat on inside. Students living on campus don’t have to worry about time because they live in the college. On the other hand, students who commute to school, have to worry about getting to class on time. Students living on campus don’t have to waste money on transportation or food since it is all covered under a plan. Unlike commuters, who aren’t covered under a plan, they have to pay more money to get to school as well as for food. Students who live on campus tend to know more people and they know more about what’s going on around campus. However, students, who commute, don’t have that advantage because they are home most of the time. Living on campus can be more beneficial than living at home in many ways.
Teaching classroom rules and procedures will contribute to a safe and secure environment for students.
