You are so hungry but you still have one more period to go until lunch. Then you see the vending machine. You run up to it and you already feel less hungry. You put in your dollar and boom, you have food. Evidence shows that for many reasons vending machines should be allowed at schools. Vending machines help fill kids up, they give school profit, and they help prevent food waste. First, vending machines should be allowed at schools because they help to fill kids up. Lots of school lunches don’t provide enough food to fill kids up. If kids aren’t full then they can get something from the vending machine. The vending machine more than pays itself off with all the food it sells. Also, the money in profit from the vending machines can be used for other school needs.
Finally, vending machines lower the food waste at schools. Taslee, from West Babylon, says, “If students go to the vending machine, they would get what they wanted and less food would go to waste. Lots of kids don’t like a lot of the food served at school lunch. If they don’t like it, they then throw it away. If kids don’t like the school lunch instead of eating some of it and throwing the rest away, they can get something from the vending machine that they actually want.
Although, lots of people say vending machines have too much unhealthy food and nutrition lacking food. That is true in some cases, but vending machines have good and nutritious food too.
