Should the driving age be changed to 21? Statistics say that 35% of the people believe that it should be changed and 65% believe that it should not. I am part of that 65%. There are many reasons I think 16 is the right age and that 21 is far to old. When teens turn 16 they have a lot of things to do and places to be, school, work, and maybe they have extra curricular activities or sports not everybody’s parents can always take them. If they were to change the legal driving age to 21, i think there would be a lot of complaints. One reason i think it is wrong is because teens have jobs too. There could be some kids who maybe there parents need them to have that job to help support their family too. So what if the parents were at work? How would the kids get to work if they weren’t aloud to drive until the age of 21. Just because 16 year olds are younger than 21 year olds doesn’t mean anything. No matter what age you are before you start driving you are always going to be inexperienced. Half of the time that is what causes the accidents, not that they are to young. …show more content…

When they are driving they become more cautious because they have them and any other passengers in the car. They know they have to be careful and keep them safe. When you get your license it kind of means it is time to mature. You have to grow up sometime and by 18 you are considered a legal adult so i think 16 is the perfect age. At 18 a person is a legal adult. At 18 you can move out on your own and even vote, so you should be able to drive. By not driving until you are 21 means that you would be an adult for almost 4 years and not even be allowed to drive a car. I think that is wrong and way to
