“In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game”, by Richard Connell, a man named Sanger Rainsford goes on a trip, head for the Amazon. He later then jumped off the boat because he saw a large island that is said to be a mystery. He meets a man, known as General Zaroff. He later explains a game that Rainsford does not like, but he decides to play the game. Rainsford use his cleverness to defeat Zaroff and wins the game. Rainsford talks to Whitney about a large island that is know to be a mystery. It is called “Ship-Trap Island.” They are both on yacht on the way to the Amazon. “Off to the right, somewhere is a large island”. (Page 13) Rainsford then wakes up and hears 3 gunshots coming from somewhere. He climbed onto a rail trying to figure out where it was coming from. He later lost balance and fell of the boat and he tried to cry out but he was hit by the water. “He lunged for it; a short, hoarse cry came from his lips as he realized he had reached to far and had lost balance”. He informed about who he was and that he meant no harm. The man told him that he knew who he was and liked his book and introduced himself. He told him he goes was General Zaroff. General Zaroff and Rainsford talk about hunting and what they have hunted. He explains to him the game he calls “The Most Dangerous Game”. Instead of hunting animals he hunts people. He likes to trick people into thinking he is a really good person then he makes them play the game and they only get a knife and some hunting clothes.
