As of end 2011 the total electricity production since 1951 amounts to 69,760 billion kWh. The cumulative operating experience amounted to 15, 15,080 years by end of 2012. Others may say that the children died in the fire. Firefighters said that the reason no one saw them yelling out the windows is because they were just children and probably hid under their bed because they were scared. “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving is a tale that has many different interpretations. One interpretation, in particular, is that of the supernatural and the headless horseman. The history of the town is peculiar, there is also a history of ghosts and mischief going on in the woods. This story mainly focuses on Ichabod Crane and what really happens to him at the end of the story when he is gone suddenly one night. Through the history and setting, chaos is ensured through people leaving suddenly, which gives Sleepy Hollow a haunted essence. Irving uses the character, Ichabod Crane, to show how the supernatural and history of the town are involved with Ichabod leaving town.

Pollution is a major problem for all of us. People need to recognize this situation so we can start making a difference to this problem. In order to start making a difference, the federal government should increase gasoline tax by one dollar a gallon. Fifty percent of this dollar will go towards public transportation, since passenger cars and trucks are a major contribution towards air pollution, according to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, E.P.A (10/4, http://www.epa.gov/autoemissions/emsns.html). Due to the expected increase after this is put forth, the remaining fifty percent of the dollar will go towards safety on these transits. When public transportation increases, air pollution will decrease, which will lessen the harmful health risks towards the environment.

The Negative Effects of Urbanization on People and their Environment As our world becomes increasingly globalized, numerous people travel to urban areas in search of economic prosperity. As a consequence of this, cities in periphery countries expand at rates of 4 to 7 percent annually. Many cities offer entrepreneurs the potential for resources, labor, and resources. With prosperity, cities also allow the freedom of a diversity of ways of life and manners (Knox & Marston, 2012). However, in the quest to be prosperous, increasing burdens are placed on our health and the condition of our environment.

When picking an energy resource for the topic of this paper, I bounced around a lot of ideas. Then it occurred to me that I should write about what I will be living with in about a month. My mom just finished designing and building our earthbag, solar, off-grid house, a four-year endeavor. I will soon live in a place powered by one of the most common alternative energy resources, solar energy, so I should learn more about it.
