Throughout the program, I have been thrilled and excited to integrate and be a part of the Frontier community. The warm welcome from the Frontier staff was exceptional which made me feel welcomed. Although the week felt stressful on arrival to campus, I deeply felt Frontier was the right place to be. I felt a sense of belonging.
I have grown professionally through the program and my ability to critically think has evolved. The different perspective of each student has helped me to gain new knowledge and become a better practitioner. With experience and confidence I have learned to critically think as I collect, analyze, and synthesize the information to provide positive patient outcomes. I felt that being able to see other students via hangout enhanced communication and built rapport. These activities allowed me to identify commonalities, share information, and created a sense of belonging. I enjoyed the small group of students which supported a productive and participatory learning environment. Even though some of the students live miles away from each other, I felt like I knew them. Clinical bound experience was exceptional, after interacting and sharing each other’s experiences and knowing we all have something in common was special. The nursing program and the CB was a good experience for me in that sense.
The faculty presence every step of the way to guide me throughout the program, the two-way communication between me and my instructors allowed me to structure personally meaningful knowledge. The interaction of the students and faculty via Google hangouts, discussion boards, and emails has made my learning community at Frontier phenomenal as I am actively engaged. The ability to see the compassionate faculty who works tirelessly to see me succeed as I achieve my goal is remarkable.
