Selena Quintanilla, the madonna of Tejano music. Such an empowering person; she was beloved by many. Her tragic death caused an immense outrage and pained many. Yolanda Saldivar, her killer made a huge mistake that day. Nothing can justify her shooting Selena. Her actions were driven by hatred towards the Quintanilla family, greed, and caused an immense outbreak of mourning. Although some may say that her actions were justified because of her being fired, that is not a good enough reason to shoot someone. Here are my explanations as to why Yolanda saldivar did not have a valid reason to end Selena Quintanilla’s life. Before the tragic occurrence, Yolanda was fired from the the Quintanilla family boutique. This was because they had discovered that she had been stealing money. Yolanda saldivar had also taken with her some very important documents that the family needed to retrieve. The Quintanilla family firing her was justified because when an employee commits an offense like that, they should face the consequences which in this situation meant her getting dismissed from her job at the boutique. Yolanda being fired was one of the trigger points as to why she shot Selena and that too was not justified. That leads to the next reason, greed. …show more content…

Her death caused a large amount of suffering to her millions of fans around the world. Thousands gathered at nearby gas stations to mourn and light up candles to honor this great person. Yolanda Saldivar was not justified to cause this tragic moment because the Quintanillas had treated her with respect and provided her with a job. Her unthoughtful and vicious action caused many to lose an honored artist that was considered the Madonna of Tejano music. Although Selena’s death brought her even more global recognition, no one can replace the music that moved many. Many were disappointed to lose such a talented artist at just 23 years
