Scary story response
Whether it’s watching a terrifying movie, to riding a gargantuan roller coaster, being scared somehow has a death grip on us, and leaves us urging to recive more. The way we feel, behave, and act can all be changed by fear, and in the thought of bad situations.. it can make us wail, but it can also make us laugh. So why do we like fear? The main reasons are they can be fun, they give us the wonderous sensation of adrenaline, and they leave us puzzled for days after it occurs.
For starters, a lot of scary moments are fun or exciting. Whether its riding a roller coaster to running through a haunted house, scary moments make us feel the butterflies in our stomach. it makes us feel alive. Even reading about them makes us feel alive. “Well, I killed him.” (Lamb to Slaughter.) Some people’s heart might start pounding heavily there, and it makes them urge to read on.

When we’re on an intense ride, or being chased by a man with a hockey mask on ,or even playing hide and seek and someone gets close, adrenaline forces our hearts to thump at intense speeds, and makes us feel alive. it also gives us strong and powerful sensations of strength, and frequent bursts of energy. “Creepy stories help us to realise strong emotions.” (Why we like being scared: the science behind the scream.) Fear is a powerful emotion. Wikipedia.com describes fear as “an emotion induced by threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately change behavior, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events.”Most people tend to avoid fearful situations, not realizing that something positive may come out of the event or experience. Victor Villaseñor focuses on the topic of fear in his novel titled Burro Genius. Villaseñor demonstrates to readers how growing up he was extremely fearful of any situation. Victor also tells his readers how he turned his fear into motivation into motivation to keep going and reach his ultimate goal of becoming a published author.
Fear is an everyday emotion that the human race must face, and it can bring out the best and worst of us, but its how we choose to deal with it that truly defines us.
For example, the short story “ Why we crave horror “ Stephen says that we are having a “ particular sort of fun” meaning death. King says “ pro football has become the voyeur's version of combat,then the horror film has become the modern version”( Kings , “ why we crave horror” .2). Meaning the soldier’s version of combat has become the horror , in which kids see, fun to watch at a young age. Horror movies are to make a purpose for you to feel catharsis towards it. Emotion muscles also known as the human condition, are the way you feel about the horror in that case, having fun while watching it and finding it interesting. Compared to the narrator and the events of “Strawberry Spring,” we “reestablish our feelings of essential normality” (King, “Why We Crave” 1). Despite the macabre fact that multiple women are killed in the short story “Strawberry Spring,” the experience is a “peculiar sort of fun” (King, “Why We Crave”
Fear motivates many people to act upon matters, right or wrong. This emotion has been important in many events in both works of literature, and in the real world. It has forced military geniuses into retreat, and influenced them to plan another method of attack. Fear can be both a positive and a negative acting force in one’s life, a quality that can motivate one to success as well as to downfall.
Our emotions are said to be the most subjective of all our biological components. It seems that we have a difficult time grasping them, and an even more difficult time controlling them. Fear seems to be one of the most challenging of our human emotions when it comes to trying to subdue it ourselves. When we see a creepy bug, or are caught off guard by an extremely loud noise, we jump before even thinking about it. It seems like a normal reaction, and then after the initial surprise we can assure ourselves that we are still alive, everything is fine. But what about people who have abnormal reactions to fears? People who develop a phobia that is not so easy to subdue?

Fear is an emotion that makes you feel afraid or something is frighten. If you’re like most people that wonder what make stories so “scary” or suspenseful, W.F Harvey and Percy D' Aco can help you answer some of those questions. W.F Harvey is a well known writer for writer scary novels. He wrote the famous novel called “August Heat” and in the story you can see the many different methods he used to make the story so suspenseful. He used three specific methods that helped make the novel so suspenseful, one was withholding information, the next was foreshadowing information and the last one was putting the character in peril. These methods are the reactants to the novel and the product was fear.
Paranoia has always been an enemy to me in the darkness. This irrational fear has accounted for many sleepless nights, and horror only fuels the fire. Yet, I am still captivated by something that produces such unpleasant results. The culprit just might be one thing-- the characteristics, events, and situations that humans all share that are the ingredients to what makes things such as emotions and ambitions exist; otherwise known as the human condition. Fear is a human emotion everyone dislikes. Fear is in every person with no exception. It can be difficult problem to solve. We can overcome our fears by challenging ourselves by analyzing fear and developing a growth mindset.
