We have owned gas stoves and dryers, but never a gas refrigerator. Gas appliances cost more upfront, but are inexpensive to run over time. Personally, I would rather have gas appliances than electric and believe many other people would too; however, there are major factors that caused the gas refrigerator to fail. This book that she wrote is about how the duck commander teen keeps it real and stays true to her values. The Robertson family is a Christian family that lives in Louisiana, and they make products for people who hunt ducks. The show is a reality TV show, they have become really wealthy but they owe it all to God, and they trust in him completely. They have had many trials, one of the trials they faced was being asked not to pray before meals on the TV show, but there was no way they would agree to that. They have put their faith before fame and that’s something that’s really important. Sadie Robertson is 18 years old, and currently a senior in High School and graduates in 2016.
In Judith Ortiz Cofer’s “The Story of My Body” Ortiz Cofer represents herself narrative story when she were young. Her autobiography has four headlines these parts are skin, color, size, and looks. Every headline has it is own stories underneath it. Ortiz Cofer’s is expressing her life story about her physical and psychological struggle with her body. Heilbrun’s narrative, “Writing a Woman’s Life” shows that, a woman’s does not have to be an ideal to write a self-autobiography to tell the world something about herself and her life. Ortiz Cofer’s facing a body struggle that is not made by herself, but by people around her. Therefore, every woman is able to write can write an autobiography with no exception.
The professor, Deborah Brandt, believes that one becomes literate by their surroundings and not by themselves. In the first paragraph it claims that literacy is not simply about reading and writing, but also how you can use all the knowledge you acquired into real life situations such as solving problems. Brandt claims that sponsors do help out individuals, she also thinks that sponsors have their own goals they are striving for. Although, sponsors are supposed to help out individuals it seems like they pretend to be the protagonist, but are hiding their self-interest at the same time. This makes me question if whether or not my English teacher would actually preparing us for our AP exam or just making us write over and over?
Linda Hogan’s Solar Storms and Cheryll Glotfelty’s criticism come together to depicts two very different cultural views through an unavoidable clash that occurs when their lives literally depend on it. There is the western culture that sees the earth as nothing more than a never ending resource without realizing that by their activities, they are at risk of creating their own demise. Then there is the indigenous culture that personifies the land. They see the earth as an entity that they have made a bond with; a bond that now lay broken. The book also utilizes silence not only as a symbol for something much bigger but also as a way to craft identity through the views of culture on a forged path of oppression, pain, and inner strength.
The book that I have currently finished was Life on the Refrigerator Door by: Alice Kuipers. This book is about a really poor relationship between mother and daughter. What makes their relationship not really well built is that when they need to tell each other something they wrote on a sticky note and posted it up on the refrigerator. For example: on pages 6 and 7 (page 6) “I’m running out the door. I’m on call this weekend. Sorry Love, Mom” (page 7) “I’m going to spend the night at Emma’s. You seemed a bit tired last night, Mom I hope you’re not working too hard??? See you tomorrow. Claire.” I feel like that something bad had happened and made the relationship happen in the book.

I think gas powered vehicles are better because they function better when the weather gets cold. Cold weather hurts EV battery performance. When the outside heat falls below freezing, usable range drops to 20 miles or less making the EV practically unusable in cold weather climates (Peters, 3). We live in Alaska so the winters here are pretty much freezing or below so an EV here probably wouldn't be good in the wintertime. Also in the cold weather it makes the charging time a lot longer than it would've been if it were warm out.
Rachel Carson’s work Silent Spring, while it dramatizes the situation and events, also provides information on how society has suffered losses from the use of pesticides in recent years. She focuses highly on the irreversible damage to wildlife and the danger these new pesticides pose to humans. With Carson’s background and knack for writing, this piece was excellently written to exact a specific response from the uninformed reader. This piece does a bit of a poor job at balancing the gains and losses between pesticides and the welfare to humankind. Her purpose appears more wavering towards an impassioned plea for action against the use of these new insecticides than an informed piece striving to enlighten the population.

NiSource is one of the biggest natural gas distribution companies in the USA. Company is not responsible for the production of natural gas, but rather purchases fossil fuel at the source and transmits supply thru its pipelines to industries and local costumers. Natural gas can be transported to distribution facilities in two ways: underground gas pipelines or shipped by the sea in LNG tankers. In nature during the extraction, natural gas exists as a gas, which needs to be captured by special pipeline system designed for gathering processes. Captured gas contains water and other impurities that have to be removed in production well. In order to be transported, it needs to be cooled and transformed into liquid, which increases transportation efficiency to processing units and improves transportation cost ratio. Regasification is the process when "wet", liquid natural gas is processed and changed to pipeline quality natural gas. Natural gas needs to be turned back to gas in order to be useful for residential and commercial customers. This process needs to be monitored and measured for quality and content of natural gas due to the risk of pipeline rupture and safety. "Natural gas entering the system that is not within certain specific gravities, pressures, Btu content range, or water content level will cause operational problems, pipeline deterioration, or even cause pipeline rupture."1 Natural gas transported to distributors is called "dry" gas due to the physical state.
