Rock and roll started in a lot of states not like the other types of music I was talking about. And that’s what makes rock and roll unique from the other types of music. Rock and roll started in many states not just in one state but many and then evenly spread out through America and became a big hit after the World War II. There are many types of rock and roll to soft rock to hard rock to slow rock and so on. It also had its problems as to any other type of genre. There was also great artist in the making and made big names for themselves. For example Elvis, The Beatles, or Richie Valens and so on that made great rock and roll music and had the true meaning of rock and roll. Rock and roll had golden years were it was listened to all over America and then in the late 1900;s that when the different types of rock and roll started to appear into the music culture and started to change the American culture as well for introducing the different types of rock and roll. This changed the music history and the American history because most the genre types of music have various types of the genre and are very different from each other yet related to the roots which are rock and roll when it began in the mid 1900’s. What I liked about the author is that he speaks to us about how there are different types of rock and roll and how it has reshaped our culture and music and how it has changed over time from the past to present. He states a lot of good facts and examples on the topic rock and roll and how it is effective and how it has changed from when it first started in different states to how it has changed to now which is well known and different types of rock and roll that are known in today’s music
But overall I did like how the author organized his ideas and how it all fit to what he was saying about his argument and how it worked out for him. He did a good job on his article and explaining on how rock and roll started and how it built up on itself and started new types of rock and roll. Kind of like a tree it starts from the bottom and then grows and makes leaves which are the new types of music that were produced by rock and roll. I also like how the author has a lot to say about the past and how it all started as rock and roll and then evolved into various types of rock that has created new types of music in various types of ways but is still known as classic rock which is amazing because a lot of music types did not evolve like how rock and roll did. What emerged after the explosion of rock and roll in the 1950s abandoned the roll and has now come to be known just as classic rock. This rock that was created following the decade of The King became a completely unique and different sound that changed the musical landscape and what was once a single, unified genre gave way for multitudes of variation in its sounds. These new sounds, that came mostly from abroad, had been notably influenced by the American rock of the 1950s, such as Elvis, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry. These pioneers of rock came to be the essential reason for the arrival of the British Invasion and other sounds that defined the decade of the 1960s.

This book provides a very detailed outline on how and where rock and roll originated. It places much emphasis on the transition from Black to White rock artists and how society reacted to this change. Szatmary also presents sufficient information on the many aspects of rock and roll, ranging from what the lyrics are about, to the beginnings of rock and roll and new age rock.
In the 1950s rock-n-roll established its own marks in history. It spread throughout the decade in a thrilling, substantial, and even livid to those Americans trying to get rid of all sorts of conflicts and challenges that occurred during this time period. As exciting as this music was, the novel “All Shook Up” portrays how rock-n-roll brought many changes to the American culture and later to the sixties. It expresses many concerns such as race relations, moral decays, and communism, but in ways that are partially true.
Many considered Rock ‘n’ Roll culture as a bad influence to all people, but as the genre aged and the now not-so-young crowds had matured, Rock was respected and appreciated by most of America for it was now seen as a legitimate art form. As for its creators, there is no one other than the greats of race music to thank for that. A time of shift involving a large number of African-Americans migrating to cities in the north. Music has continued to change throughout each decade, but the 1960s was the most influential decade in the history of music. Starting in the early 1950s, rock music was first introduced. Major record labels were releasing new “cover songs” which were originally made by black artist, but now by white artist (Rock and Roll). These cover songs changed a few lyrics from the original songs to avoid copyright issues and to also make the song more appropriate for the white listeners. The biggest star of the 1950s was Elvis Presley, who was known as the “King of rock n’ roll”.

While going through our history of rock and roll course, one thing has become apparent, and that is that music brings people together. Sometimes it takes music to get a point across, and our world has endured a lot of social and a cultural change, which is how we music today. Just like our world is evolving, music is the same way. When a baby is born until the day it dies, it has evolved internally and externally and that is the same way I view the history of rock “n” roll. Rock and Roll was the start of a new revolution in America. It introduced the world to many of the famous artists that continue to be a part of our lives today. "Artists who became popular in the 1950s such as Elvis, began to pave the way for others such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Buddy Holly" (The History of Rock 'n' Roll until 1960). With the introduction of rock 'n' roll, there came many new changes to the lives of many Americans. Rock and Roll was a major contributor for the change in teens' behavior in the 1950s because it encouraged new freedoms for teenagers, encouraged new fads among teenagers, and caused a generation gap.
Rock 'n' roll came from a type of music called rhythm and blues (R&B), which consisted of doo-wop and gospel music. It was popular mostly in the south during the 40’s but it soon grew to urban cities. It was Les Paul’s invention of the electric guitar in 1952 that added a new sound and made rhythm and blues into the rock 'n' roll we all know and love today. Most of the artists from R&B were African American, and in their song they would reference sexual matters. So together it gave a bad connotation towards the music and their race, therefore both were never fully accepted in the north. In conclusion this report has helped us understand the significance of Music in America. Also, the impact it has on music we listen too. Music is very much like a big chain reaction. Rock ‘N’ Roll, much like music today, stood out and was in a way rebellious. Parents now hate Rap and we love it. People in the 70’s loved Rock ‘N’ Roll and parents hated it. This shows that maybe no matter how much older people deny it, the time gap and generation gap is not too far apart. Without Rock ‘N’ Roll the World would without a doubt be changed. People aren’t just born into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it takes hard work and determination to succeed through overwhelming circumstances to achieve this goal. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the hallmark of rock stars’ career. The following artist that are to be discussed in this essay have done just that. Rock and roll became the music industry it is today because of the artists and bands that dared to explore different types of genres in rock. The following inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that will be discussed in this essay are N.W.A., John Lennon, and Les Paul.
Rock and Roll has good rhythm to it and a backbeat which sounds different from other earlier genres of music. It also has the blues influence which I like. Earlier genres of music in my opinion didn’t have the same type of rhythm, speed, syncopation or the strong back beat, the riffs and the hooks that rock & roll has. I also like the vocal ranges that some of the rock & roll musicians have and their ability to make them sound so unique. From the early 60’s and on, the music in general just sounded a lot better. Rock and roll during these times also became more rhythmically better.
