Robin Hood a legend that lived in Sherwood Forest and was a known thief, bandit, and an outlaw. He was the leader of the Merry Men and one of the most influential figures at that time (Wright, 2004). Although it was not always like this, he was once a simple man who did not defile the king. It did not last long though, because he decided to go against the king after experiencing his corrupt rule first handed. His actions against the king led to a change in how many of the people thought, by influencing the actions of others. Robin Hood was born and raised in Loxley, South Yorkshire. He never gave anyone problems and would have been considered a good kid. When he grew of age, he fought in the crusades (Pfeiffer, 2013). Although not much is known …show more content…

His royal advisers were urging him to eliminate him so he could no longer be a threat to the king. He had an idea to host an archery tournament that Robin Hood would love to attend (Johnson, n.d.). It did not take long for Robin Hood to hear and decide that he would attend, even after acknowledging that this was a plot by the Sheriff to arrest him. It did not take long for people to become impressed by his bow skills and for him to win almost every challenge being thrown at him. Although once he did win, he was sentenced to be executed that night (Fortunaso, n.d.). Robin Hood being Robin Hood did not only deny the sentence but also challenged the men arresting him. He was now in a battle with 15 of the sheriff's men, but it did not last long. Robin’s skills helped him quickly eliminate all 15 of the men, but more of the sheriff's men were coming. Robin Hood was not about to give up so easily though, he held his ground and fought off as long as he could. But in the end he was captured and on his way towards execution (Wright, 2004). Word got around of Robin’s fate, and now the Merry Men were coming to retrieve their leader, Robin Hood. This resulted in a battle that was bloody, because they were vastly outnumbered. He desired something more such as love. He took some time away from the Merry Men for a while to see if he could find someone (Alchin, n.d.). It was not clear on how they meet again, but Robin Hood came into contact with Maid Marian. The woman that spread his name across the country for stealing the shipment of gold that was being transported. At first she felt nothing but fear and anger towards him, but he started to telling her how badly people were being treated under the rule of the corrupt government. She was skeptical at first but she eventually came around and joined him in his fight against them.
