“You’re impossibly fast and strong. Your skin is pale whit and ice cold. Your eyes change color and sometimes you speak like -- like you’re from a different time. You never eat or drink anything. You don’t go out in the sunlight…” (Bella, from the movie Twilight) At that point in the movie Twilight, Bella is putting pieces together that Edward Cullen is a vampire, but can vampires actually be real in real life? All that is really needed to be considered a vampire is by the want and urge to drink human blood. This paper will inform you on just how vampires can be real to a certain extent. It all start on May 23rd, 1950 in Santa Clara County, California when a man named Richard Trenton Chase was born. Richard did not have the “typical” childhood many other will have. He was beaten by both of his parents and had to suffer by listening to his parents constantly fight with each other. As a child there were many early signs that he would become a criminal in the future. Some of these signs be would bed wetting, setting fires for amusement, and torturing animals. As a teenager Chase did drugs and drank on regular occasions. Chase started to become slightly normal in high school when he ventured out and had a few girlfriends. The relationships did not last because Chase soon found out that he was unable to get aroused. Chase was informed that the main cause of this could be mental illness or anger issues. Even with the signs showing that Chase was suffering from a mental illness the doctor still did not suggest admitting him into a mental institution. Unfortunately Chase did not do anything with this information either. It was later found out that the only way Chase could receive arousal or an orgasm was by brutal acts towards animals ... ... middle of paper ... ...e title he was given which was “The Dracula Killer”. Chase gained some fame with his title and the crimes he made. In the year of 1992 a movie called “Unspeakable” came out and the killer in the movie was based upon Richard Trenton Chase. Chase was also mentioned in the season one episode “Blood Hungry” of the show Criminal Minds. Many TV shows and movies today will get their ideas from dramatic events from the past and the crime that Richard Trenton Chase committed happens to be one of them. Works Cited Innes, Brian.
