Her Majesty the Queen has been one of the longest reigning monarchs in the entire world outliving every other Royal family in the world. She has lived almost a full century of cultural government and economic change throughout the world and her Empire. In her life she has had her fair share of ups and downs along with undaunting service for her country. Through Her Majesty the Queen the British Monarch has survived and prospered. Living for the service of her empire is what makes her one of the best monarchs in the entire history of British monarchs of any era, her love for all her people is immense upon any comparison. They mad and unusual couple both being distant cousins, Elizabeth was quiet calm and content, while on the other hand Philip was outgoing and outspoken. Elizabeth's father was hesitant in the beginning seeing how he came from greek and danish royal family and had little wealth along with his somewhat rigged personality. Eventually her father gave in to her daughter's love for Philip and gave his permission to marry. In autumn of 1947 the British Empire was still recovering from the effects of the second world war. With money short at hand Queen Elizabeth collected clothing coupons to afford fabric for her wedding gowns. Suggested by her government to have a small wedding unseen by public eye, was soon thrown out the window as word spread of their marriage. Parliament thought that with the war over and economies in ruins that having a massive wedding was not what they need but in fact turned out to be a big moral boost gave the british people something to celebrate during hard times. The wedding ceremony was held in London's Westminster Abbey in November 20th. As a constitutional monarchy Elizabeth is not permitted to have say in any political manners, and is also not allowed to show any political views. though she has a weekly meeting with her prime ministers, having good hard working relations with their 12 PMs during her rule, which includes Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair and David Cameron. When she became Queen of the British Empire, post war England still held a good portion of realms throughout the world. Though during the 1950s and 60s many of these countries received their independence and the British Empire evolved into a collective group of commonwealth countries. She has made many trips as the head of the commonwealth countries and the representative on Great Britain, which includes the groundbreaking trip to Germany in the year 1955, she became the first monarch in ages to visit Germany since the war. Queen Elizabeth continued to travel extensively between 1970 and 1980.
