During his young childhood, Marshall moved back and forth between his mothers home town of St. Joseph, MO and the Detroit area, where he was often beat up by bullies because he was always the new kid. Because of his frequent moving, Marshall didn’t make many friends. His only true companion was his uncle, Ronnie, who was the same age as Marshall. The two, big fans of rap music, which was quickly becoming popular, began rapping together. At age 12, Marshall was forced to grow up quickly when his uncle, who was a very troubled boy, committed suicide.
This is when eminem decides that he wants to make rapping his career. In the summer of 92 Ronnie visits eminem in detroit and eminem tells Ronnie all about his dreams and how he wants to become a big rapper. Ronnie tells eminem that he wont make it and to just give up but eminem was determind to make it. Its not the same anymore you don’t have guys on harleys in gangs or in their classic cars, its the “thug life” thats changed the world today and Biggie Smalls was just the creator. Eminem a Detroit kid rapping in just a whole in the wall place with a ambition to make it in a rap career when everyone in his family counting on him, but nobody believing in him. He was one of the only white rappers in a black community growing up and trying to make it. “What comes around goes around” is a quote from eminem when people would try to bring him down and not believe in him anymore.
His boss was looking to fire him for a long time. His whole life, he has had the wrong idea. “Success doesn’t come from just luck, popularity, or personality. All throughout the Death of a Salesman, Loman tells his two sons, Biff and Happy, that the key to success in life is to be “well liked” and that all you need is “a smile and a shoeshine.” (Brett) However, Willy completely ignored his true calling of working with his hands, to become a business man. Marshall Bruce Mathers III, also known as Eminem is considered to be a famous record producer, American rapper, actor, and songwriter ("Marshall Bruce Mathers III"). Eminem struggled throughout his childhood years by switching numerous schools and homes. He eventually dropped out of school after he had failed the ninth grade three times to focus on what he liked to do best, which was writing music and rap. Even though he was never really good at school, “ Eminem found a way to express his passion for language, as well as to release his youthful anger through the emerging musical genre of hip hop” ("Marshall Bruce Mathers III ").

Hawthorne lets a lot of little details out throughout the start of the story that shows the fact that Goodman Brown has been living in denial of the bad things around him and the things that he is getting himself into, but goes along with it anyway. The term father and son relationships, the father is a very important role model for his son, and everybody needs a fatherly figure. For one Babe isn’t there for Amir as a result that he is nothing like his father. In The Kite Runner Baba speaks to his business friend Rahim khan about his son and why aren’t they similar. “He’s always buried in those books or shuffling around the house like he’s lost in some dream I wasn’t like that”.
For years, his constant aim for success had been successful. However, as the story progressed everything he knew started to fall apart. After discovering what has happened to Sonny, the narrator makes it seem as if he does not care and does not want interference in the life he has worked so hard to create.
