“Train Go Sorry” Reflection Paper I thoroughly enjoyed getting to read the book “Train Go Sorry”. There were several aspects about this book that I really enjoyed. These aspects were: how informative the book was about the history of the deaf and how society used to view them, how the author uses this book to help the reader see into the lives of those that are deaf, and how the author teaches the reader about some of the deaf culture. In this book, we read of several different things about the deaf culture. One example is the dislike the deaf people have for cochlear implants being given to deaf children. As stated in our book, the reason why the deaf do not approve of cochlear implants being given to deaf children is because they feel the child should have the opportunity to decide whether they want to be hearing or deaf. Another part of the deaf culture that we learn about in “Train Go Sorry” is that the deaf are very social people. They enjoy being involved in many social events and love to talk with one another. In conclusion, the book “Train Go Sorry” was a very awesome book to read. From an early age, I have always been interested in sign language and the deaf world and I enjoyed getting to learn more about the deaf and their culture from this book.
